Just a note, to prevent any allegations of slurring the good name of two talented authors here at Lit.

It is highly possible that both Intimate Confessions and JUDO had absolutely nothing to do with it, but are themselves the victims of the stupidity of another; some twisted game others are playing.

Let's face it, you'd have to be incredibly stupid to do something like that, then leave your own stories at the top of the list.

At any rate, Laurel will know the facts. She will have IPs logged, and other information like that. I think it is wrong of us to speculate and accuse others.

Just look at their stories. Intimate Confessions' chapter 1 has both the H and E next to it, as well as a W. JUDO's chapter 6 is the same (I believe). So, they are obviously highly regarded stories by many people.

Perhaps somebody thought these stories did belong at the top of the list (and might well be justified in thinking so), but just went about making it happen in a very underhanded way.

Heh, and there's me saying we shouldn't speculate. I'm merely saying that we have got to be careful what we say, for fear of wrongly accusing others.

Yeah, that has crossed my mind before. It's very sad if that is the case, because all authors here a Lit should feel welcome and able to post on the AH. Hopefully others with see what you have said and take note.

I'm not worried. Laurel's always been pretty good about keeping up with bomb votes and I wouldn't expect her to be any different now. Especially when the shift was so obvious.

I'm now intrigued to go read the stories Lou mentioned as a part of the Sibling chain. Sounds like some hidden talent there.

Intimate Confessions and JUDO now oddly hold the four top spots with stories that are a couple years old. I don't remember seeing these stories anywhere near the top of the list before.

Seems kind of obvious to me.

Personally, I'd like to see both of their accounts closed for this. But that's just me.

Their stories have always been on very high spots of the top list, as you can see by the "E"s and "W"s, Dranoel, and I can personally vouch for JUDO's integrity.

You really should be careful with what you say, D. If you have complaints, PM Laurel.


PS: I really pisses me off to think that you would start these sort of slandering threads about people you don't even know who wrote stories you have never ever read.

I don't pay any attention to where my stories rank, so I don't know if I was high enough up to even need a bomb. That said, there is a side to this we should all be cognizant of.

Each of our stories recieved multiple looks and votes from all the participants as well as many regulars here at the Ah. To the mind of whomever did this, THAT might seem an unfair and underhanded way of geting our stories to the top of the lists.

I know I'm going to get shot down, but I will post my two-haporth.

Every single person who reads a story on Lit has the option to vote from 1 to 5. If not, why bother with the option? I expect to get occasional 1, 2, 3 votes, it would be impossible for everyone who reads them, to like my stories.

I do the same. I try to be objective, and give a fair vote, even if that means voting, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5. I have voted 1 sometimes, not many, but I have done it. We have had this discussion before, and as someone said (I don't know who it was), to give someone a '5' implies that the story is perfect. How many 'perfect' stories have you seen on Lit? A few, but not that many. And if we are prepared to vote '5', we should also have the courage to vote '1' if we think, honestly, that's what it deserves.

I have to admit, I find it a little arrogant to assume that getting a one vote is someone being vindictive. It could be a genuine vote, from someone who just did not like, or appreciate your work.

If I vote a one, I do not put a pc, I will e-mail the person and tell them why, rather than make it public.

Systematic one-voting on the other hand, is something completely different, and the best thing to do, if you are suspicious, is to pm Laurel to ask her to 'check' it out, not blandly 'remove' the marks.

I had just gotten up and wasn't in full thinking mode yet. I was more than a little upset when I saw what was going on and, as usual, overreacted dramaticly.

We had something like that happen during the Halloween contest this year. Our story got over a hundred votes in less than a week, and I (REB) was reading through AH and heard people getting upset over vote counts. I wrongly assumed they were talking about our story, and it really freaked me out, and I made a post about it, then felt really bad when people started responding, telling me I misunderstood. It wasn't our story they were talking about.

It's very easy to be sensitive about the stories you post. Most of us put our hearts and souls into them. I really hate to see a good story bombed. But it is going to happen.

That was an easy mistake to make "D". We did the same thing.

As far as I know I have only been 1-bombed once, and that was during the Halloween Contest, when I was checking it at least twice a day. Even then I might not have noticed, except that night I went to bed with 25 votes for my story (qualified) and woke up with 24 votes (disqualified) although my score was a couple of decimals higher.

It gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling, that someone thought enough of me, or my story, to include me in what must have been a carpet-bombing run.

All of my chain stories (three total) received two votes of 1 each yesterday.

I'm not accusing anyone, because to be honest, I have no idea who it was, but it doesn't seem likely that it's just a coincidence that we've all received them all at one time.

I achieve low ratings by sheer merit. 'Donna' and 'White Scut' deserve their ratings close to the bottom of the Erotic Horror list being neither erotic nor horror.

I know I've mentioned this before, but White Scut was the very first story I read at this site. I came here and did the story spinner thing in the erotic horror section. I read White Scut, loved it, and voted a 5. That 5 was a genuine and honest vote. The story is very well written, it evoked a lot of emotion in me, and it's pretty damn unique! But, I do have weird tastes in fiction.

Anyone who had a story at the top of the Chain Stories list may want to check it. It seems Intimate Confessions wanted their incest stories at the top of the list. I had both of my Olympics stories 1 bombed (2 hits each) and noticed all of the other stories that were at the top of the list had also taken a couple 1 bombs each.

Just to set the record straight, if everyone on the first page of the top list were to be hit with one or two 1s, it would make a lot of damage to the ratings of those of us with 15-20 votes received.

The only thing that is obvious is that the stories that would come to the top would be those with 110+ or 430+ votes, like Intimate Confessions' and JUDO's, to whom a couple of 1s would do no significant harm.
