Chain Stories

Hi all, I was thinking of starting a chain story. I haven't been involved in one before but think a mash up of different authors ideas and imaginations could be fun and lead to an interesting story.
I'm not sure if there's any rules or conditions involved so if anyone has any advice it would be appreciated,
I have one other author who has expressed an interest in getting involved and would love to hear from anyone else who's interested.

I think you need to choose a theme that appeals to many and be very open to contributors doing their own thing.

The Worst Loving Wives Chain story might offend many readers.

How do those work? Do people reserve the next piece of the chain? I'm wondering how you keep the responses sequential.

The normal way is to ask for people to become involved and work out who writes first, who is next, etc.

It can take months to complete a chain story and even longer if one author drops out.
