Just a little public survivorphile service! Here's a directory of links to what I gather are currently active chain stories threads. These are in no particular order. Also included is a link to the chain story FAQ and Author's Hangout it you've got a great idea for you own chain story!

One final note: Snippetsville Group's chain stories are ineligible for the Survivor Contest. Participation is fun, but since you cannot post your chain under your own name, you cannot use these stories for points.

You're all more than welcome to join our chain, the hilarious "The Worst Chain Story Ever" - chain.

The deal about this one is to write the crappiest crap you can. Remember all those stories you've read that were just - awful? Top them! Write a really lousy chapter, fill it with clichées, get sidetracked, use all those words and lines you Just Don't Use - it's fun!

Our brave ambition is to write one chapter for each category there is on Lit, ie a parody of all the clichées in each category. Ogg wrote a horrible masterpiece with Fetish, I followed up with the scaringly well-endowed black men in the Interracial chapter, then we had BDSM, Toys & Masturbation, one that we're not really sure what category it fits in, I suppose we'll have to call that Erotic Couplings, and then we had one Incest chapter, but that seems to have disappeared into cyberspace.

This really IS the worst chain story ever!

Join us - and spew out all your prejudice about Romance, First Time, and Celebrities! Or whatever you feel like ridiculing.

New Chain Story Idea: Superstitions

Thread in the Author's Hangout

Here is my posting in AH:

I picked up a book recently at Bookman's called The Dictionary of Omens and Superstitions. I thought it would be an interesting research tool for stories (since I like Sci-Fi and Fantasy so much). I thought this would be a wild chain story idea.

It is now June 1... and we have a contest, National Nude Day, that starts on the 22nd:

National Nude Day (July 14)
themes: public nudity, exhibitionism, etc.
starts: June 22
closes: July 6
winners announced: July 12

I thought what an interesting and fun way for people to enter the contest with a category that they may not readily have an option to all the time.

Any takers?

The last couple of chain stories I was involved in garnered people being nominated for the end of the year author awards
