No, I don't think the majority are water proof. As intresting as the propasal sounds, I don't think it would be terribly safe.

Are cell phones water proof?

I imagine that most cell phones are "water resistant" because they're intended for use indoors and outdoors, but I don't think taking one into the shower would be a good idea, unless you've got one designed for scuba divers.

doublebagged in ziplocs works just fine. Make sure you suck most of the air out of them that way they're more manageable. And put the volume on 11 so you can hear it

Get a headset for your cell phone...then you can hang the mic over the top of the door
