Tricia dared her eyes to open as she felt Adrian's strong body scoop her off the bed and through the cell block door and over the bodies of the guards. The realization of what was happening caused her to clutch his body tighter.

Adrian sighed softly as he kept moving. "They're still breathing, despite the fact that I don't trust more than half a dozen of the near sixty guards here. I suspect that this prison isn't as it appears, as more than once, before they shoved me into that solitary cell, people would go for 'parole hearings' and never returned," he said quietly, not meaning to scare her, but airing a suspicion of his own.​
 
She listened, trying to see if she could figure out the true nature of this prison.

He carried her through hallways, evading guards, until they reached a point where he'd have to put her down. She kept her arms wrapped around his shoulders as he gently set her on the floor, only releasing when she could feel the concrete beneath her feet.

"There may not be that many guards, but I remember a lot of locked doors. How are we going to get through that?"

Adrian exhaled softly. "There's a reason why I blew out the wall rather than the door... that particular talent... turning my blood into an explosive... isn't as strong as you'd think. In fact... the only way I've found... to regain the blood I use... well... it's rather disturbing," he said quietly as his ears twitched at the catcalls, though he ignored them as his fingers brushed the small of his back, coming up with a pair of vicious blades he slid over his knuckles. "Funny... they assume that tattoos are just that... never thinking that what you see... isn't what you get," he muttered with an edge of amusement. He had four primary affinities, though the fourth was extremely painful for him to use. The other three he was very familiar with. He exhaled softly, as the blades were more for defense than offense. He smirked slightly as he flicked his wrist, the jangling ring of four keys arcing through the air towards Tricia. He knew that the guards hadn't done more than the usual searches of his body, and so, wouldn't know that he was... different from 'normal' humans... in a very critical way. His body held a secondary circulatory system within it that flowed around and through his body and nerves, much like the so-called 'Qi network' that the Chinese knew of, despite the fact that the one who had introduced the idea of it was someone who had never managed to unlock what Adrian had had since birth.​
 
"Well, I am officially disturbed." She muttered as he wielded his two blood blades.

She caught the keys and began trying to find the right one for the doorway blocking their escape. She fumbled through the first three, the fourth jammed but with enough strength, she was able to force it and the door opened.

The two slipped through, and they found an office space with a map of the complex, a computer, and a stack of files. Tricia wondered if their files were included, and if they could give her some clue as to why she had been sent there.

Adrian snorted. "You aren't the first to say that. I was disturbed at the idea of letting... her... do it... though it has proven useful," he deadpanned. He knew the pair of vicious blades he held were very much steel, and a very unique, dense steel at that, though he could have, just as easily, created similar blades from his own blood, but had decided against it. Besides, the sealing tattoo was hidden from sight and was no larger than a dime.

"We should check for any files... on both of us," he said dryly. He was fairly sure the filing cabinets, however, would be locked, though he could just shatter the locks with the blades he had.​
 
Tricia sifled through the sheets of paper until she found Adrian's file, thirty pages entirely redacted. The only clue it was him was his mug shot paperclipped to the corner.

"Is this any use to you? Do you have X-ray vision as well?" She was only half joking.

A few more files down, Tricia found her file. Paperclipped mug shot, transcript from her previous prison, and a few pages she didn't have time to look through. She closed the file and shoved it into the back of her pants. Hopefully there would be some answers in there.

Adrian cocked his head, frowning slightly at the file before he sighed softly as he hid it in the seal at the small of his back, shifting the blade from his right hand to his left before the dual blades merged as one. "I don't have penetrative sight, though I do have enhanced senses," he deadpanned, shifting his weight before he blinked, his eyes narrowing slightly as he noticed a sword, his eyes narrowing fractionally as he lifted a hand, the sword trembling before it shot from the thick Plexiglass tube holding it as if it had been fired from a gun with a sharp cracking pop. "They dared," he muttered, barely restraining his anger. He knew this sword had been passed down through his family for close to 1600 years, and it had what many assumed to be superhuman or supernatural powers, nobody had been able to quite tell which. However, its full potential was only found in the hands of one of his family... who had a long history of hunting demons.​

Tricia could feel his blood boiling as he held the sword. Perhaps her own blood was turning as well, with his power it could be possible. She took a step backwards and felt a little better, but Adrian didn't remove his iron gaze from the sword in his hands.

"Do you and your sword want a minute alone?" She asked, nervously trying to make a joke to someone who didn't want to hear one. "We are still trying to escape, right? Maybe we could get a bag for all this stuff?"

Adrian cocked an eyebrow at her deadpanned tone. "There's no reason for that sort of pun, honey. Besides, this isn't that sort of sword, though fortunately," his tone gained an amused edge to it as he twisted the unsheathed blade before pressing it to his palm. Rather than drawing blood as it should have, the razor sharp blade sank into his skin as if it were the rippling surface of a liquid. After several seconds, it had vanished completely.

"I have ways of storing things, fortunately. Though I.." he started before his eyes narrowed as his eyes darted southward, feeling an odd sensation that felt like static to his senses.​
 
Tricia was so distracted by the sight of the sword being absorbed, she almost missed him stopping in his tracks.

"Hey? You okay?" She poked his shoulder gently. She wasn't sure what was going on with him, but she was sure by now she'd never be able to guess.

Adrian exhaled softly, tearing his gaze back to Tricia. "I'm not sure what it means, but I.... sensed something. It felt almost like... the sensation when you stick your finger in an electric socket," his tone gained an cautious edge to it as he spoke.

He didn't trust something he didn't recognize, however. He looked around before spotting a backpack leaning against a wall near a opening near the corner of the room. "That work?" His tone was slightly amused.​
 
Tricia grabbed the bag and stuck her file inside, then glanced about to see if there was anything else they would need. Adrian seemed like the kind of man who could get by with nothing, but Tricia was still a creature in need of comforts. Anything she could bring with her to make the escape more bearable, she'd be sure to grab.
 
Tricia nodded, and crouched down. She wasn't sure what he was expecting her to do, but she suspected he wouldn't want her getting involved in a fight. He seemed to know what he was doing, and didn't want to worry about a silly girl getting in his way. Or perhaps he resented her for not doing anything, for letting him take on all the guards by himself. She couldn't tell, but she knew this probably wasn't the time to bring it up.
