So, has anyone caught the previews for this tv show? The first show airs on Thursday. Swingers on prime time...interesting. The show takes place in the '60 (I think). The show does not focus on the sex but the relationships.

So is sex something we learn about Nurture or nature?
Do you think about sex?
does an affair have to bring guilt?
does a mfm have to have guilt?
does a fmf have to have guilt?

I have a story that I'm working on about friends that share. What things about swingers can make it hot? Do the couples have to be same room? what if the couples date each other?

It is set in the 70s. And, yeah, I hear that cause it is on "broadcast tv" not cable, CBS has to wimp out on the sexiness. But I'll check it out at least once. Isn't it called "Swingtown" though?

Swinging can take a number of different forms. Soft swing is where couples are in the same room, but have sex only with their significant other. It's a softer version of swinging. You see the other couple nude, even having sex. (and of course, the other way around) But, you're not having sex outside the marriage.

Until they moved away, my husband and I used to swing with a couple where we dated on seperate nights. So yes, it certainly works if they date each other.

When we first starting swinging with them, it was always together in the same room. I found it hard to feel guilty about screwing him when I was watching my husband screwing her.
(Actually, it was a big turn on! Some of the best sex I've had was when we got home.)

Pretty much, for swinging to NOT have an adverse effect on a marriage, the couple needs to set limits that are within the comfort zones of both. Problems will arise if one moves outside those limits. If they decide that they will only swing together as a couple, then one of them decides that a mfm/fmf would be fun without the significant other... Consider this as you write your story.

The show sounds interesting. It will be interesting to see if the swinging couple has set limits and what they are. Will one/both stray outside those limits. Will they pressure the couple that's on the fence to give swinging a try?

I'm still not comfortable with the word 'swinger' or 'swapper', each time that I hear those words mental images of Burt Reynolds from Boogie Nights (in the hot tub) fill my mind.

just the fact its on CBS is a let down alert.

Yeah CBS isn't one for good quality shows. Though really a show like this almost requires the sex scenes and network TV won't do sex scenes primetime. Heck the soaps don't really do sex scenes and they have a gay couple on one now. They tittilate a little and move on.

Sadly prime time TV in the US is the last bastion of prudes.

I'd rather watch Japanese prime time, their contest shows are pretty interesting if a teensy odd. Well forget teensy but well they are Japanese. They have anime shows with sex, not the main basis but close on the weekends.

Yeach, CBS has a way of skirting some issues. King of Queens danced around the hotwife and IR. Remember where Carrie cooked and cleaned for Deacon and Doug talked about doing more.

also Everyone Loves Raymond and Yes Dear also had shows where the husbands wanted the wife to flirt and flash.

maybe this will plant some seeds and hbo or showtime will pick up a better show on the 'swing town' theme

I caught the first one and I liked it, funny and serious and there was an after sex scene, she was laying there nude on her stomach, very sexy. Gave me a thought to actually, supposing somebody does a story along the same lines except the marshall is a slut, or gets sluts assigned to him depending on how you want to do it.

There's a huge area you can fit sex into when your talking witness protection. I mean they are new to an area, have a new name and the marshall practically babysits them for a few weeks.

In Plain Sight is on USA, they are making a push to be a regular old network, they have Monk, which I love though not really sex enabling. They have one of the Law and Orders, they got In Plain Sight now, and another I don't remember.

Anyway I'm going to have to sorta push this one off on you Jen, I'm backlogged for the next couple decades I think.

I watched it. As expected, full of predictable stereotypes etc.

I found myself spending most of the episode wondering whether Molly Parker had a boob job, or whether it was just the miracle of wonderbra. Occasionally wondered how old Shanna Collins, playing the teenage daughter, is, and feeling mixed feelings about the joy of her side boobage. She's by far the most interesting character.


Must confess, my "interest" perked up [in my pants] when the two wives hands intertwined with hubby's.
