and be homeschooled like he was. yeah, trumpies love the ill-educated

Cawthorn told a crowd of conservative constituents on Tuesday that they should drop out of college, calling higher education a "scam".

Cawthorn, 26, the youngest current U.S. representative, made the comments while speaking during a panel at AmericaFest, an ongoing convention held in Phoenix, Arizona by conservative nonprofit Turning Point USA. The audience at the panel was made up of a large percentage of college students.

Madison Cawthorn today to an audience of mostly college students: “I think you should home school. I was home schooled all the way through. I am proudly a college dropout. Unless you are becoming a doctor or lawyer or engineer, I highly encourage you to drop out.”

Cawthorn spent a single semester at Patrick Henry College in 2017 before dropping out with mostly D grades, according to a deposition obtained by The Washington Post. He was also reportedly rejected from the U.S. Naval Academy.

Despite Cawthorn's remarks, most research supports the fact that college-educated individuals are able to secure higher-paying and more secure jobs than people who only have high school diplomas.

We all know exactly why he'd like that. More educated = more progressive for the most part.

He's an idiot, but I'm fully opposed to college as a simple matter of being the next step after HS. If you need a degree for your chosen field, fine. Most people don't.

Yet it is the educated always crying for the Trumpies to pay for their education. :)

Student debt forgiveness!!! Why should they have to pay for their Lesbian Poetry PhD??? Fucking around at school for 10 years is a RIGHT!!!! :D

He is 100% correct. It is why I left academia. The hypocrisy. We have 50% of the population that believe Facebook links over science....flip of the coin as you walk down a street. Those people were educated in the existing system. Obviously...it failed. Big time. Colleges are about making money. Just like prisons.

It's college-educated people who run things in general. If the kids of RWs are persuaded to pass up that option en masse, that's the end of conservative influence in government, business, media and academia.

Learning practical skills in trade school is the more reliable path to a career now. Some workers learn their trades directly in apprenticeships.
