They don't mix. Trust me. And trust the singed kitty in the other room.

Put your candles in a place where the cats can't get to them. Or just don't light them. *sigh* Poor baby. She's traumatized. So am I. Thank goodness she has thick fur. She smells kinda smoky now.

I'm glad my kitty stays off of my tables. :D lol

Give your kitty a kiss for me. Hope she recovers and is stronger for it. ;)

Hope your cat is feeling better. My own had a similar experience with a cigarette when he was a kitten. Luckily it was only a few whiskers and they grew back quickly.

I was shocked. I heard a thump, turned around to look, and saw her running away from the window ledge trailing smoke! She just wanted to look out the window. Poor baby. But within a few minutes of petting, she was purring, so she's not too scared.

Hmmm, I tease April with the offer of barbecued meat and twelve hours later the cat's on fire. Connection or coincidence?

LMFAO!! I'm still hungry too.

Ya know, if you stick around, you just might make it to guru status.

Guru? It took me two years to get this far!

Hey, since we are posting pet warnings, here is one for the dog owners: If your dog has a fluffy tail (like my Chow), don't leave your paper shredder on Auto mode. It tends to make for shorter tails.

I can't light candles in my house anymore. My big baby girl Chata ALWAYS manages to set her tail on fire. Every single time I have one lit, she walks past it and lights herself up.

Another caution...

Always check your tumble dryer...

HOW Abigail, my lovely tortoseshell, survived 45 minutes on a hot cycle I'll NEVER work out.

But she did. And lived another 14 years!

Poor thing.

Her nose and pads of her feet were very tender for weeks. It was so sad but really really funny at the same time.

Her walk... I'm laughing as I think of it now.

When my oldest cat was a youngster, he loved to smell candles that weren't lit. Imagine his surprise when he found one that *was* lit! He didn't burn himself, thankfully. However, his face got close enough to the flame to curl his eye and cheek whiskers. Damn cat looked like he had a perm for weeks!

*cracking up at the memory*

She's groomed completely at least twice now. And all the little balls at the ends of her hair are gone. LOL She has a patch of short hair on her arm, but she seems to have gotten over it.

Smoke trailing from the cat. LMAO

Oh yeah and if you own a Cockatiel always shut the toilet seat....its not a spa!
