I've just written a story and can't decide which category to place it in. A man and a woman on an air plane end up masturbating each other under a blanket. Obviously very short precis of the plot, but do you think it should go in Erotic Couplins or Toys and Masturbation?

Other q: Do stories get ignored and passed over in ERotic Couplings? Never posted there, so I don't know.

...if a story is good enough it'll stand out form its category anyway so you'd best play it safe and put it in erotic couplings...

If you can, I think you should avoid erotic couplings. It looks to me that you could post your story in voyeur/exhibitionism.

If you post in Erotic Couplings give it a snappy title to make it stand out, other than that choose a cat and hope the editors don't move it for you.

You've got a tough call. The problem with EC is it's so damn big. The problem with Toys and Masturbation is it's so damn small. There are just over 200 stories posted and only abou 15 rate 4.50 or higher. However, those well rated stories belonged to some pretty fair writers such as: Thesandman, Wm. Sexspear, Just John1, and Marth Girl.

I've got a hunch that if its name were reversed and the category became "Masturbation & Toys" the traffic count would increase.

Karmadog's right about avoiding EC if possible. If you decide to go that way, take Pop's advice and give it a catchy title. I'd also suggest that whateve category you pick to use the keyword function.

There is one other alternative. You could make them relatives or an interracail couple and put the story in one of those categories.

Now, with all that having been said, and nothing having been done, my advice would be to go with T & M.
