I've been gone awhile from Lit and coming back on a new Alt I see a new-to-me category. It's Series. So, what is the difference been Series and Novels/Novellas?

I've been gone awhile from Lit and coming back on a new Alt I see a new-to-me category. It's Series. So, what is the difference been Series and Novels/Novellas?

A series is not a category. It is just a string of related stories that are not chapters in a longer story. A while ago, Lit. started grouping such stories in series, but they aren't doing a very good job of it.

Series isn't really a category, it is away that the you can group chapters of a longer work together. By placing Ch. 01, Ch. 02, etc. at the end of the title, for right now it has to be the same for each chapter, the individual submissions are grouped together for the reader to easily access.

It also doesn't matter what category the individual chapters reside, in the series section they are all together as well as on your submissions page.

As some date in the future the author will be able to group those stories together on his submissions page.

Box, they do have to have to be chapters in a longer work.
