Under which category should I submita story about a couple who plan to have a sperm donor impregnate the wife?
It's not exactly an erotic coupling since the donor actually ends up 'stealing' the husband's wife. Or rather she leaves the husband for her virile, younger lover.
Any suggestions?
Bit of a difficult one for me to decide.

Sounds like something the loving wives fanatics would like to rip apart *L*

otherwise it sounds erotic couplings to me....(catch all catgory)

That is a difficult one. If you really aren't sure, you can pick one and then in the notes field ask Laurel to choose whichever category she thinks suits the story best.

Sometimes, if they think the story belongs in a different category than what you choose, they will change it anyway. I've had it happen before.

I'd sayloving wives. Of course, that's a hot bed of angst as far as voting goes. Erotic couplings would be less volitile.

Loving Wives, though if you aim for erotic couplings, they might let it in there. Basically, if there's a wife involved, loving or otherwise, you wind up in loving wives. Try for erotic coupings anyway, though, if you want. Like Colleen said, loving wives isn't the most kind of categories.

As has been previously stated by Colly and Quiet_Cool, the Loving Wives category should probably be avoided unless the wife has not one, but several virile young lovers. Anything less than a gangbang is risky in Loving Wives if you are looking for a high vote score.

New here, so I don't know for sure- but is this true? Working on a loving wives story(series) now that will not have a gangbang of any kind. Hmm

It's a little overstated, but it comes close. Basically, the category means different things to different readers. Some want a gang bang, some expect pregnancy to result from infidelity, some actually think it's for stories about happily married couples.

With such widely diverse interpretations of what the cat is for, the voting is cliquish and catty. A story can garner a PC praising it and one villifying it. I have even heard of authors getting one votes because of someone using a condom or beacuse the wife stays with her husband.

If you are score concious, it' probably a category to avoid. In no category can you please all the readers, but in that one, the best anyone can do is please a percentage.

Ditto.

A lot of the readers seem to want to be pissed at the author, instead of reading for enjoyment. Not all, by any means, but a fair number from what I've heard. Can't say from experience, as mine have found thier ways elsewhere (like the erotic couplings category ;) ).
