Category Changes Happened

I write predominantly in that category and was not contacted but have always felt that sissy/daddy stuff and futa stories should be in a different category that those that explore being transgender. If you pressed me, I couldn't tell you how to make that distinction other than I've described.

When I look at my Works list, they're all still labeled Transgendered & Crossdressers. In the Category lists, I think all of mine have landed in Transgendered. I guess I'll see if that holds true as the databases update over the next few days.
You got me curious. In my Works list, my stories are split between Crossdressing and Transgender. In the Category list, they're all Transgender. Interesting to see stuff get updated like this haha. At least it's looking like I won't need to submit a request for every story 😅

My stats downloads shows Transsexuals & Crossdressers as of last friday.

But curiously enough, you're actually right that the category name was different in the stats' CSV; I can see it my most recent dump created in March.

Literotica works in mysterious ways indeed.

I'm pleased by the Trans - CD split. I can understand why they were lumped together back in the days of Microsoft 95. Some of my stories that feature trans folk remain in the original Romance category, which is what I'd expect.

As for the Taboo/Incest switch, I can only imagine it's a political move. Outside agencies might be concerned if incest has a higher profile than taboo.... just a thought. To be fair though, most of those agencies are deep in incest backwoods country anyhow but, y'know, hypocrisy...

Just curious, but what other allowable subjects are there that would belong under Taboo that wouldn’t just as easily fit in Fetish?

Off the top of my head, say a vanilla intercourse/relationship between a guy and a nun?

I'm wondering the same thing. Doctor/patient? Priest/Parishioner? Any non-incest "taboo" topics I can think of -- that are allowed under Lit content rules

There ya go.

My guess is that they need to go into a piece of code somewhere to change the downloaded name.

Encode your information in the database, and normalize your tables, kids. Or you get weird effects like this.

If it were up to me LW would be split into 2 categories.

One would be called Infidelity or Cheating & Infidelity.
The other would be called Hotwives, Sharing and Swinging.
If you are proposing this as a way to avoid hostile negative remarks, I'm quite sure you would be disappointed.
I believe there is a large group of readers that would flock to both categories and spew their vitriol at all stories as they do not see a fundamental difference between the two proposed categories.
I have seen many remarks about consensual non-monogamy stories claiming that the women in these stories are (put in the derogatory names of your choice) and that the marriages are doomed, no matter what.

I remember when code was revealed to be a large green vagina and I've yet to see that idea challenged

Some of the downloaded titles with an & show as & instead.

I imagine you're right, definitely in the short term. It'd be interesting though, to track the adaptation of the change over time. Might take a decade (or more!) before the dust meaningfully settles.

Two nuns, a novice and the mother Superior, were strolling through the park one evening when they were accosted by two rather aggressive and virile young men who proceeded to have their way with them.
The novice prayed, "Father forgive them. They know not what they do."
The mother superior replied, "Quiet sister. This one most certainly does."

My guess is that it would help significantly. There really is a critical mass effect in play. Sure, some people will go to the swingers etc category and try to harass the stories. But they will miss the BTB action. Other categories have some of the same issue of people who fundamentally object to the category. But I think the readers who fled the quagmire of LW, wanting swingers will come in and outnumber the trolls sufficiently to dampen the atmosphere. If that happens, the trolls will loose interest.

These actions definitely require some kind of penance from the two young men, but to do that, we would need to change the category. 🫤
Damned category puritanism!

Indeed. I was raised catholic. For the penance to be accurate, it would need to go straight to BDSM.
A Mother Superior with a 12" ruler is a scary thing...

:)
I see that in your fantasies, Mother Superior is doing math? What kind of church did you go to?!🤔

Cpl. Baldrick: "My father was a nun."
Capt. Blackadder: "No he wasn't."
Cpl. Baldrick: "It's true! Whenever he was up in court, and the beak asked, 'Profession?', he'd say, 'Nun.'"

Attended mass every Sunday at the cathedral. Nuns taught religious education after mass, and the ruler had nothing to do with math. WMD would be kind.
There was, however, this one nun; taught middle school, smoking hot. I wanted to get into in her habit in more ways than one. LOL 🤭 🤭 ;) ;)

You sinner.

Still don't get why you would need a ruler for religious education. Candles and ropes on the other hand...

Definitely transgender. Although there are a lot of dresses, the whole colour spectrum of them, in fact, but they're all worn by the women in the story.

Don't be spooked by the subject matter, it's definitely EB content, and I think, one of my best. It's got transgender, siblings, older woman younger man, same woman and her loyal driver, my most flamboyant creation, Bonnard the dressmaker (who first turned up elsewhere), and lots of beautiful dresses, including one of @Bramblethorn's (Anjali's red dress).

The story also encouraged @stickygirl to write her lovely Hannah stories, after I gave Hannah a cameo.
Your story does seem to be in no man's land. When I open up the story page (or reload it), it usually shows up as crossdressed, but occasionally as transgender. Your works list seems to have it as crossdressing.

I went to see if it was in one list of top stories on either side. As an interesting data point. The first page of the lists are complelely distinct and seem to reload consistently, So some things seem to be sorted. Based on your score and views, I expected to find it in one list or the other. Did it not get enough votes yet? I don;t know what is typical rate in the category.

SPECULATION: Based on things I could imagine doing if I was Manu, truing to make this transition as painless as possible for the two of them, and what seems to fit what is happening. My guess is they created two new categories in the DB. I bet they ran some form of tag analysis and maybe word content to move many, if not most, of the stories into one of the new categories. I guess your stories got left behind for a manual change.

As a side note, I have put your story on my reading list. I am trying to work all the way through the Floating stories first. I will take your word on that I will like it. Thank you.

As a polyamorous person, I'd be baffled for the opposite reason.

Why are we segmenting 'Hotwives, Sharing and Swinging' as if that's the only kind of non-monogamy that people can practice?

I get poly stuff is super niche. I don't expect a category. But if you're going to attempt to segment those things from LW then why would you not just broaden that to the whole ENM umbrella?
