I'm working on a two part story but each part would fit into different categories. For example, the first one would be published in Exhibitionism and the next chapter seems more appropriate for Loving Wives.

Should I just choose one category or would separate categories be acceptable?

I think separate categories is acceptable. I've seen it done before.

Some readers only browse through certain categories. So on the pro side, you'll expose more readers to the series by putting different parts in different categories. On the con side, people who read the first part might miss the second. Also, Loving Wives is home to the worst trolls on Literotica.

I've put different chapters in different categories before and it didn't get me any negative comments at all. I've found if you have readers that like your stories they'll follow you across categories quite happily.

If there's still a strong exhibitionist theme in the second chapter, you might consider sticking with E&V. You're likely to have better reader retention, and you avoid the boiling shark pool that is LW.

Just because something has strong elements of another category doesn't mean you have to move it there, as long as the original theme still holds true.

I'd go with separate categories. Those encountering the story for the first time will choose stories that match their kinks and get weirded out if the story doesn't seem to fit into the category, whereas those who picked up the story earlier will generally follow you through the categories.

And be advised that Laurel has the right to put the story wherever she deems fit, so your designation might not be honored.

To answer this question I think you have to ask yourself what your goals are.

With each successive chapter of a story, you will typically lose readers. If each successive chapter is published in a different category, my observation is that you will lose readers faster. If you want to hold on to your reader base, it makes sense to keep publishing chapters in the same category.

The wrinkle on this, though, is that there are more LW readers than Exhibitionism readers. LW is a very popular category, even though it has the nastiest readers and by far the lowest scores. If you want to dip your toe in that pool for a chapter or two you might expose the series to more readers, though you are likely to pick up trolls and some bad votes along the way, and you may lose some of your exhibitionism readers.
