So much for that life + a billion years sentence!

(WOIO) -
52-year-old convicted kidnapper and rapist Ariel Castro was found hanging in his cell Tuesday.

Castro was being held at the Correction Reception Center in Orient, OH in Pickaway County.

He was sentenced August 1 to life in prison, plus 1,000 years, for kidnapping and sexually assaulting Amanda Berry, Michelle Knight and Gina DeJesus while holding them captive in his Seymour Avenue house for over a decade.

Ohio State Police and the Department of Corrections are investigating the death.

Certainly no loss. If he had asked for my assistance in the hanging, I would have been happy to provide it.

I would like to thank him very much for doing the right thing and saving tax dollars.

I was thinking the other Castro, too. Gotta happen sometime.

You know what's weird about the other Castro (aka nutjob), besides that the guards handed him rope for "craft time?" That they tore down his old house as part of the deal. How does that even work with the bank, presuming he had a traditional mortgage? I never saw a story that explained how that part of the deal was reached. Weird detail, but I want to find out.

I notice Amicus is posting tonight.

There goes that theory.

.... unless it's his ghost posting. Gasp!

Some would say he took the easy way out.

Now he doesn't have to stay in a small prison cell, eat crap food, fear for his safety and think about what he did.

Coward.

I hope this brings his victims relief rather than further distress.

That is exactly what I would say. Guy locks women up for ten years, then can't handle being locked up for a few months.

The house would normally go to his heirs, which would be the children of the women that he kidnapped and raped... although I'm having torn it down, I'm not sure if the city declared emminant domain or something.

I'm sure that the victims will be compensated somehow.

No sane person would want to live in such an infamous place so the bank may have been protecting their investment by tearing it down so they could use the property for something.

My thoughts too.

Shame he didn't kill himself ten years ago.

I only wish he could have lasted long enough to go to a maximum security penitentiary where he could have experienced being locked up AND fucked...poetic justice.

Well, it at least saves the United States some money.

Pondering Question: Should ropes be issued to prisoners sentenced to die, for killing other human beings, especially children?

Good. I hope it wasn't his idea and he it was made to look like a suicide. Bonus.

No, they should hold a lottery and sell tickets to those wishing to put a bullet in the creeps.
