Carrier to invest Trump deal tax breaks in automation

That website reads like it was written by Homer himself.

"Support the Trump investigative fund. Get a T-shirt. Give someone a hug."

Nice.

Eyer, I could find other sites reporting the same news, but you would still be a drooling mouth breather dragging your intellectual knuckles.

This turn to automation has long been underway to save the costs brought on by irrational business regulation and taxation emanating from Washington DC. The fact of the matter is that the manufacturing will remain and while some workers will be laid off, they will have to be replaced by a number of better educated technicians. Which, if I remember the argument, are better jobs than the slave labor of the uneducated wage worker...

;) ;)

He wants Trump to fail even if it means America has to fail.

He doesn't care if a single job was saved.

He wants to dismiss and denigrate.

This is "I told you so."

So which would you rather have? Send the jobs to Mexico or invest the money here to upgrade the plant?

The whole point of the Trump tax break deal was to keep ALL those Carrier jobs in the U.S.

The result of Trump's negotiation was 800 workers still being laid off.

Now the tax breaks are destined to upgrade plants with automation replacing human workers.

Meanwhile, Carrier announced even more workers being laid off from another Indiana facility.

Carrier is not going to stay. They are going to cash in on the donald for every penny and fuck the workers. Mexico is cheap. Africa is cheaper.

Big business! Yay!!

So ..... you're saying Carrier and other billion dollar corporations weren't already getting tax breaks while their upper management employees were collecting million dollar bonuses?

I see.

Again, you go to the most base argument possible, envy.

It's just solipsistic rhetoric unless you can present to us actual facts about pay, bonuses and the percentage of profit that was 'stolen' by the executives, this time specific to Carrier...

You did not go anywhere near the economic argument and the root cause of Carrier, or any corporation, even fast food franchises, for choosing automation over people.

busybody, is the concept of magnanimity in victory a complete fiction to you?

Here's something, start pretending to be an adult agin and look to 2018 when Democrats have to Defend 28 Senate seats and the Republicans only 8 and consider the turnout model in off-year elections and that should warm the cockles of your blackened little heart...

If Trump keeps making positive headlines for his voters, it could be another bloodbath.

Wouldn't it just be easier for the U.S. to purchase Carrier outright, fully automate every plant, staff these with a smaller more educated work force, trim out the greedy upper management bonuses and then use 90% of the profits to fund Social Security and other government spending, thus reducing taxation on Americans and U.S. businesses?

Did you not see the story about the military losing money? The troubles at the VA? The crumbling infrastructure?

VENEZUALA?

This is what comes of the dreams of the Sophists...

In no place has the intellectual actually taken over and produced a society more perfect or fair than have the Capitalist Liberals (classic). No matter how well-intentioned or how well thought out are their plans, it always evolves into a two-tier society, those who have nothing and those who use terror and fear to cling precariously to their position of comfortable wealth.

Your theory on how the government could take over and produce superior results was pretty much summed up by Bastiat in the 1850s. The Progressive/Socialist looks only the the immediate desired result and never any further unable to anticipate the unintended consequences of their a priori brilliance.

It is common sense to reinvest profits in the company and ALL of its employees.

Upper management could then afford to pay itself higher salaries.

Unlike you, I'm not trying to divert attention from the topic at hand, which is Trump's Carrier Deal.

Perhaps we should have done the same with GM and Chrysler.

They should have been allowed to fail, go into bankruptcy, sell off the unprofitable, retool and emerge smaller leaner and better able to adapt to changing trends.

Instead they relied on government to not just save them, but use onerous regulation to prevent the emergence of smaller, newer and better managed competition.

Okay.

It was the worst deal ever made. It was ll a lie and all it will do is cause pain and suffering, so we need, we demand a government takeover, because the same people who put Carrier in dire straights with their micromanagement will get the job right if we just get the executives completely out of the picture and let the brilliance of people like Nancy Pelosi set the company straight. After all, she done a crackerjack job of keeping the Democrat Party in the money...
