Has anyone noticed the carnage in the bdsm ratings in the last several days. Until this evening, only a single story survived above 4.5. It appears all stories were, about four days ago, lowered by .2-.3 of a point, which can be a drop of one hundred in ratings. (This evening Laurel and others began to repair the damage, and there are now several stories above 4.5, as is common, esp. for new stories. THANKS LAUREL. )

I wonder if there was some act of overall vandalism, handing out a couple 1's to all top authors??

I might mention that Norma Jeanne, whose stories often dominated the top ten for many weeks, appears to have had an additional lowering yesterday. NOT ONE of her 'Silk' stories is in the top 400 stories. Again, unless there is computer error, this drop into the 3's, would indicate she was hit with perhaps four 1's on each of several stories. (This is over and above the possible general vandalism described.)

I don't have a great stake in this matter, since I've only written once in this category, but as a member of Lit., I am disturbed.

Hi abashed-dreamer,

We are currently working on clearing out a batch of questionable votes, and this will undoubtedly have some affect on many story scores in the BDSM category. Some stories will rise as a result, some will fall, and most will be totally unaffected. We do have not any evidence that leads to any specific member, and I would encourage people to refrain from making accusations at this time. We have put some new measures in place, and if this continues to happen, we should have a lot better chance of tracking down the persons responsible. Apologies for the nonsense, and rest assured that we're always watching and always improving the system.

Just think of the BDSM category as the Florida of Literotica. :)

Laurel,

I'm so glad to see that the list in general now looks something like the pre-vandalized state. Thanks for your prompt actions.
Florida indeed.

I do see that NJ's top 'silk' stories are at 293, 456, and 471, which is a change from dominating the top ten. I think you will agree that there was besides general damage, specific damage.

Have you ever thought of limiting the number of 1's a person can hand out at one visit???? {limit of one!) I agree an occasional 'protest' or slap in the face is nice (though I've never given a 1 that I can remember), but surely someone who comes to Lit and hands out ten 1's is not really voting or doesn't belong or is some religious nutcase.

Similarly, would it be hard for the computer to 'flag' a story that gets several 1's (say more than two) in a row. So it could be looked at??

Thanks again for all you've done.

Good job Laurel !

Many thanks to Laurel (hopefully she reviews this post) as i have a BDSM story in the works at the moment. I think it is really rude that some people may be pulling down all the great writers on this site.

No I am deffinitly not one of the top authors on the site and so would probably not be affected but to hear about it happening to others really makes my blood boil.
