My first car was a 1984 Buick Grand National. It was the start of my love affair with fast black cars. I was 16 and I remember two things: I found a joint under the seat when cleaning it and my dad saying it was "too much car" for me.

Now, mind you, I didn't always get to drive fast cars, but I always loved them. After the GN died, I had a terrible run in with a 4-door Cutlass Supreme.

I recently parted ways with my beloved 2007 TrailBlazer SS w/ the 6.0 V-8 Corvette engine. This was a hot little number, but it sucked in the snow. Too much torque for the AWD to matter. I scared myself in that car a few times, but I looked SO GOOD in it and I loved climbing out of it with all eyes on me.

I traded that on a Jeep Cherokee - black/black/black. It's a great looking vehicle, but I got it for the fuel economy and going from 8 cylinders to 4 is killing me. I recently saw a Mercedes GLA in a parking garage and I think I might love it.

If I had unlimited income, tomorrow, I'd go find myself the following vehicles:

1969 Convertible Camaro SS (Black) - No go faster stripes. I'd go for the 350 over the 405.

A Porsche Cayenne Turbo - You know, for like every day stuff. (Black)

Finally, a black Maserati. I'll never have a car with the trident on the front, but man do I want one.

Do you have a dream car?

Nice choices...but a 66 GTO convertable triple black is my choice...

I'm a fan of Counting Cars on History Channel, so I tend to fantasize about
having the money to get his shop to do one up right for me.


As far as other cars I like...
That new Rolls-Royce Wraith seems wicked.
I'd also want a Bugatti Veyron (even if they aren't the single fastest thing ever anymore and are considered out of date.)
1971 Olds Toronado in a dark metallic purple.
1970 Mustang Boss Fastback in teal.
1958 Ford Edsel (it's so hilariously ugly that I like it)

In general, I really dig that era of cars between the mid-60s and the early-70s.
Always prefer hardtops to convertables.
The hard roof line makes the body in my eyes, and when the top is down, cars lose character.
I always like them less with the roof down, and even whent he roof is
up on a convertable, the top just down't look correct.
Hardtops pretty much all the way, just nicer lines.

Yes. My 2002 Ford Thunderbird. It looks like I just drove it off the lot. It's not as fast as the muscle cars you mentioned above. But it's fast enough for me. I try and hit triple digits when I'm driving it.

AND it was in a suicide girl shoot that never got published. :(

I think that's the one thing that hurts the look.

Well I like blue, and I like dragons (I'm a nerd in general, not really a car guy), and every single other person's muscle car from that era has the same old double racing stripes.
Chevelle, Mustang, fucking Nova... all of them, it's boring.
If I had my fantasy Chevelle, you'd actually know it from every other Chevelle on the planet.
Racing stripes, they can look good I guess, but they are just SOOO overdone that I find them boring.

Oh, and it wouldn't be a decal.
I'm talking actually custom airbrushed on.

I had my SS up to 121 once. Straight stretch of I-70 between Indy and Cincinnati early one morning allowed it to happen. Its still stored in my lil Garmin GPS as my top speed.

I'm pristine with my cars, too. When I traded the SS in, I got a tremendous amount for it. The only wear was stuff I couldn't control like the natural changes in the leather and the wear on the knobs and stuff.

I forgot all about the Suicide Girls! Are they still around? I have an ex-friend who was touring with their burleqsue shows several years ago. What a weird combination of broads.

I hit 118 on Route 32 near the B/W parkway in Maryland. That was it.

Yep, they're defo still around. My friend mostly tours with a burlesque troupe.

If I can get them removed from my Boss, I'd be very happy.
Seen those things on a mid-90s Corvette around here, and it makes me cringe.

The '69 Stingray... now that is sexy.

I SOOO hated it when the new Corvette body called itself a Stingray.
Frankly it didn't even look like a Corvette to me, but in particular the Stingray name was a gut punch.
Call it anything else but Stingray! >_<
 
All the Buick Grand Nationals were black but 2. One white one went to a race car driver, I forget who, and I walked into a garage once and saw the other. It was custom ordered through some kind of skullduggery. Bought by an Airline Pilot that still had it.

I didn't get down to vin-tag level discussion with him but my understanding of it is that edition in white.

Now I love the Mustang and the look of American muscle cars but only just now is the Mustang getting independent reader suspension. Great in a straight line, sound great but not so good in the bends. Thought I would like to get a Camaro Z28. Always liked the look of it. However if money isn't the issue my list would be like this. Nissan GT-R, Aston Martin DBS, or V12 Vantage, and for supercar madness the McLaren P1 or Porsche 918 Hybrid. What strikes me is that the European and Japanese engines get more horse power per litre, even the V8s. Though bang for buck American muscle cars do deliver and they sound great. I'm also very partial to the looks of 70s muscle cars.

When I was a Kid I was in love with the Ferrari Testorosa-sp

I thought it was the most stunning car ever. I had like posters of them on my Wall.

I had those posters, too, along with hair bands and Corey Haim.
 
I am a big muscle car freak. Give me a big block engine any day. I grew up in the era of the 60's & 70's muscle cars and drove a lot of them...But let's not forget the about the MOPAR's either. I am really liking the new Dodge Challenger Hellcat with 707hp, but a little over pricey for my taste. Still waiting to see what Ford or GM is going to respond with now to take it on theat MOPAR. Let the muscle wars begin again!!!

As for me, a favorite of mine, that would be hard to pin down to just one. I do miss that 1974 Pontiac Firebird. It had the 455 c.i.d. w/300+ hp, auto and my old 74 Plymouth Duster, 4speed, 440 under the hood.
I do currently have two projects working on right now...1964 Plymouth Barracuda and getting ready to go back through my 1978 El Camino. I have had Elky since 1991 and I am third owner on it. GM even sent me the blueprints for my Elky:D I have more paperwork on that truck/car than anybody has for their vehicle...

Brad whats up with 100mph @ 3000rpm+. That's a high rpm for at that speed. V6 or V8?
100mph can be fun Brad, but trying pushing it to 160+. I use to street race back in the 70's and 80's before it was popular like it is now.:cool:

Right now currently restoring a 68 firebird convert....400/auto was a major rust bucket most rust gone but it's a slowwww of job

Lamborghini Countache was the ultimate bedroom poster. They always make mad looking cars. Do you guys have the latest season of top gear over there?
