:D Exactly.

I was just 21 the first time I bought a new car. My dad went with me to check out the cars I was interested in to see how easy they were to work on for repairs, but I did all the talking to actually buy the car. The salesmen all tried to talk to him and ignore me. He'd tell them "she's the one you have to deal with, good luck!" and then walk away. Yup. I've always enjoyed being the one with the checkbook and in control.

That is why I like my method. I give em 15 minutes to get their best price.........make them tell ME what they think the best price is for the car (see how close they come to what I AM going to buy THAT car for) and if they don't I might give em another 15 minutes, if NOT I walk. Simple as that.

I don't play their games and subscribe to their tricks......I know them all as I used to work at a dealership or two in my past. I just refuse to play their games. I find that my method works pretty well actually.

For example, I too did the shop for another person and do all the negotiation for them thingy too.

2002 Ford Explorer Limited 4WD V-8? Check on Edmunds and see how much they think you should pay for it and post it. Then I will tell you how much WE got it for. Honest.

Well the list of options on the Explorer consist of the following (these are of course outside of PW/PL)

Parchment Heated leather seats
Audiophile In Dash CD/AM/FM with Disc Changer
Rear AC
Third Row seating
Towing Package
Rear Sensing Unit (kind of like Rear Radar to tell when stuff is behind you too close or whatever........)
Power Pedal (moves pedals closer or further from you)
Memory Seats
Limited Slip Differential
Keyless Entry (duh?)

heck this thing has every option except a sunroof and you can't get that due to the Rear AC deal.

The actual MSRP showed $39k or something close to it
The research we did showed the value or cost at $32K
He paid $32,200 for it.

Not bad.......and all in less than an hour!!!!
