It didn't take long for sleep to drag her under, and soon, Alexis was peacefully sleeping next to her lover, an arm and a leg draped possessively over him.

Between the warmth of the blankets and his partner, Nikolai had no trouble falling asleep.

Alexis woke up slowly the next morning, and she smiled as a small ray of the morning sun fell on her and Nikolai. She laid in bed, watching him sleep.

Nikolai sat up groggily, still glowing from last night's activities. "Morning, Snow Princess."

"Morning, Rusky," she replied, kissing his cheek. "You're glowing."

"So are you," he said, kissing her cheek. "Why do you think that might be?"

 

[celestialdragon]

"Hmmm. . . Probably from the amazing day that we had yesterday, especially at night," she said, grinning. "I don't think I've ever seen you more surprised."

 

[bindingeagle]

"I can think of a few moments, but that one was up there on the list," he replied. "What should we do after breakfast?" He tried his leg again, but pretended to be OK through the pain.

Alexis notices the pain and reaches over and massages the spot where he was shot. "Don't try to be tough around me," she told him quietly, kissing his cheek.

"Why not?" he asked, "And I am, too, tough."

She smiled and kissed his cheek as she massaged his leg. "I know you're tough, but baby, if you're in pain, you don't have to hide it from me."

"So what's a pretty lady and her gimp to do on a rainy day like this?" he asked, looking out the window.

Alexis shrugged and continued massaging his leg. "What do you want to do?" she asked, smiling at him.

 

[bindingeagle]

"We could shoot. After last mission, we could probably both use a refresher to stay sharp on moving targets."

 

[celestialdragon]

"How about going down to the range, then?" She suggested, easing up on the massaging.

 

[bindingeagle]

"Great. We can get coffee and doughnuts on the way," he said, packing up his guns and allowing Alexis to make her own selections.

Alexis packed up her guns and smiled. "Sounds good," she said, slinging the bags over her shoulder.

Nikolai drove to the range and began light, taking shots with his pistol on a static target.

Alexis also started off on a static target but used one of her rifles.

Nikolai progressed through his guns, proud of his groupings. Once he had shot all of his forearms, he sat and drank coffee until Alexis was ready to shift to moving targets.

Alexis finished soon after Nikolai and came over to sip on her coffee, analyzing his groupings. "Not bad," she commented, smiling.

"How do you want to work our moving target training?" he asked. "How do we make this interesting?"

"You want to make it interesting?" Alexis teased, sliding onto Nikolai's lap. "Hmm, good question. How?"

"Well you know our usual bet. Any way we could spice that up?"
