"Fine, I'll be good," he said. "Dinner should be good tonight. It's lasagna."

Alexis smiled. "Sounds delicious," she said.

Mikhael led them to the officers' mess where Nikolai and Georgia were waiting for them. "How was your afternoon?" he asked, kissing her. "Good to see you up and around a bit more."

Alexis smiled and returned Nikolai's kiss lovingly. "It was nice. I went to the library and read before we went out and watched his daughter practice ballet," she said, sitting down.

"That's good. I'll bet he had to fight to keep you out of the gym," he said, pouring her wine.

"Not too much, I didn't give him too much trouble," she said, sipping the wine and nodding her approval. She smiled and rested her head on his shoulder for a moment.

Georgia got another plate of garlic bead for the table. "I was thinking that in about a week you two could do the job for me. I'll need you operating at maximum efficiency."

Alexis nodded. "I should be up and running in a week," she said.

"Good," she said as her orderlies cleared the table. "I believe we have a red velvet cake for dessert."

Alexis smiled. "My favorite. Please tell me that's not in my file," she teased.

'No, I asked Nikolai." she said. "I'm not a complete witch."

"I was joking," Alexis said, smiling. She kissed Nikolai's cheek affectionately.

After dessert, Nikolai asked, "What do you want to do this evening?"

Alexis shrugged. "I don't know," she said. "What sounds good to you?"

 

[bindingeagle]

"Movies and relaxing sound good, unless you're up for other things," he said.

"Movies sound good," she said, smiling.

Nikolai led her up to their room, going slowly since she was getting used to walking again.

Alexis held onto Nikolai, thankful that he was going slow. Once reaching their room, she made her way to the bed and laid down on it.

"What do you want to watch?" he asked, calling down to get popcorn and soda delivered.

Alexis looked over the movies she had brought with her and held up Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. "This look good?" she asked.

"Looks great," he said, "It will take me that long to unwind from training today."

 

[celestialdragon]

Alexis put it in and curled up next to him. "Did you have fun at least?" she asked.

 

[bindingeagle]

"I did, these young bucks are so stupid when they start out. I think i sent a couple to the infirmary for minor things, but they'll learn."

Alexis smiled and snuggled in with him. "Remember you were like that once," she teased.

"I know, that's why I'm so hard on them," he said.
