Captured for Interrogation

Alexis nodded and waited, in a lot of pain. "Whatever the Russian says," she said.

Once he had soothed the rest of her body, he carried her and placed her in the tub.

Alexis sighed heavily and sank deeply into the tub, thankful for the warmth. "Thank you," she whispered.

"You've earned it," he said, stroking her hair. "How did you realize it wasn't your dad?"

"When he touched my face. . . the fingers were too rough," she said, closing her eyes.

"I'll have to remind him to use the back of his hand next time," he said, softly washing her body.

Alexis nodded, wincing whenever Nikolai went over a particularly sore spot.

"What else can I do for you?" he asked.

 

[celestialdragon]

"Just hold me, please," she said, plaintively, needing his touch.

Nikolai carried her to the bed and put her down, climbing in behind her and trying to find a way to hold her without hurting her more.

Alexis snuggled into Nikolai, ignoring the pain in her body. She nuzzled her face along his cheek and closed her eyes.

Nikolai made sure she was comfortable and safe before falling asleep himself.

Alexis woke up a couple of times, shifting so her pain filled body would relax and let her go back to sleep. When she woke up the next morning, she whimpered softly.

Nikolai woke up and kissed her lips. He found a note on the table. "It seems that Georgia wants to make a truly special day for you. She's taking you to the officer's spa while I do some combat training."

"She must feel bad that she had to put me through so much," Alexis said, gingerly getting out of bed
and finding one of Nikolai's T-shirts and a pair of shorts.

"You were very strong, just like I thought you would be," he said. "Let's meet her for breakfast. we both have a full day ahead."

Alexis beamed at the compliment. "Carry me?" she asked.

"As you wish, Buttercup," he said, taking her to the mess hall.

Alexis smiled and shook her head. "I like it when you call me Snow Princess," she said, kissing him.

"It fit the line," he said as he put her down. Breakfast was coffee and very fine Russian pastries.

Alexis ate hungrily, and drank the coffee eagerly. She noted several glances from the soldiers around and she looked at Nikolai. "Why are they looking at me?" she asked softly.

"They don't know how you;re sitting up after all that," he said. "They all had just about the same thing and most took two days to get to where you are."

Alexis shrugged. "Mind over matter, I guess. I can't walk, but I can do some things." She kissed his cheek.

Georgia sat down after kissing Alexis on both cheeks in the old world style. "We are going to pamper you today," she said.

Alexis returned the cheek pecks. "That's what Nikolai had said," she said, giving a warm smile.
