"Let's," Nikolai said. They drove to a field that had a lot of forest fields. They registered and got their guns. "Good luck," Nikolai said, smacking her on the ass. "I'll be back for more of that later."

Alexis smiled and shook her head before stealthily sneaking off into the forest. Her hazel eyes canvanssed the area for a few minutes, walking along silently, before she spotted Nikolai. She lined her sights and nailed him in the boot before hiding.

Nikolai jumped at the hit and looked down after taking cover in the bushes. The paintball hadn't broken so he was still in. He saw movement from that direction so he laid down a stream of fire at her cover and used the opportunity to relocate.

Alexis rolled on the ground, cursing her lousy shot. She managed not to get hit, and she relocated and found him again. "Gotcha," she growled under breath and set off a barrage of shots, keeping her location hidden.

Paintballs plastered Nikolai's cover, splattering him a little but not enough to put him out. Nikolai broke cover low and took off into a nearby fortress complex.

Alexis saw him take off and stealthily took off after him, firing shots whenever she could. She was determined to win, although she knew it would be much fun whether she lost or not.

Nikolai had just stopped moving when several other colored paintballs whizzed by him. Three other players were on him. He shot two and entered into a battle cover to cover with the third. It wasn't Alexis but he couldn't worry about that now.

Alexis heard shots fired, and it wasn't from her, and it wasn't from Nikolai. She noticed two players were out, splattered with Nikolai's paint, and she gave a small smile as she sneaked up on their battle cover. She began firing at the third party, hiding from both Nikolai and the new opponent.

Nikolai was in a fierce battle with the kid across from him. they were ducking, bobbing and shooting for all they were worth. Nikolai finally scored a winning shot but realized his hopper was out of paint. He reached around behind him for a fresh pod of ammo.

Alexis saw that the third kid was out and saw Nikolai reloading. She took careful aim and fired, ducking down after the shot was fired.

Nikolai felt the sting on his back and reached around behind him, finding a huge glob of paint on him. He raised his hand, called himself out, and left the field. He got a couple of gatorades and waited for the round to end.

Alexis came out a few minutes later, triumphant. She grinned as she saw Nikolai drinking Gatorade and kissed his cheek. "Well done," she said.

"Thanks, honey. I can't wait to see what you have in store for me. When do you want to claim your prize?"

"Hmmm. . . " Alexis thought for a moment then whispered. "Two nights from now. You'll receive written instructions the night before, and you follow them to the letter."

Alexis sensed his nervousness and smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry, sweetie," she soothed. "It will be no more intense than what you did with me the other night." She stroked his hair. "What do you want to do now?" she asked.

"Let's get lunch. We've been working hard this afternoon." Nikolai said. He had seen a pit beef stand down the road.

"Sounds fantastic!" Alexis beamed. They handed in their guns and they took off toward the pit, and once more, she sneaked her hand into his, smiling.

Nikolai got the sandwiches and a giant thing of french fries. They sat at a nearby bench, munching and enjoying the good weather.

"This has been fun," Alexis said with a smile. She munched on her sandwich and fries. "A lot of fun, and I'm really happy."

"So am I," Nikolai said. "Tell you what, I'll drive you back to the hotel and I'm going to go out for a bit.I'll be back soon."

Alexis smiled and nodded. "Alright, babe," she said.

Once she got back to the hotel, she flopped on the bed and relaxed, sighing softly.

Nikolai drove for a bit and found the shop he was looking for. He bought what he needed and returned to the hotel. He gave the dozen roses and jewelery box to the concierge and said, can you deliver this necklace to my room? I'm planning a surprise. The flowers as well." Soon the gifts were on their way.

Soon, there was a knock on the door, and Alexis stood up from her meditation on the bed. She opened the door and was shocked by the jewelry box and the flowers, knowing that they must be from Nikolai. Inhaling the roses deeply, she set about to find a vase for them before opening the jewelry box, gasping softly at the necklace.
