"A zoo sounds like an idea, but I heard the DC zoo was bigger," Nikolai said. "And I heard there were gorillas."

Alexis smiled and got dressed in jeans and a TShirt. She ate a small granola bar real quick then she and Nikolai got in the car and they got out at the Zoo.

When they got out, she paid the fee and they walked hand in hand through out the zoo.

Nikolai took in the sights, marveling at all the types of birds. He imitated the apes in the monkey house for Alexis' amusement.

Alexis practically dragged Nikolai into the panda house, and laughed as he shook his head in amusement as she fawned over them.

Nikolai had his turn when he dragged Alexis into the Reptile house. He wasn't sure how she would react.

Alexis beamed when she entered the reptile house. She knew quite a bit about snakes, as it was, but she steered clear of the spiders.

Alexis smiled and led him over to a little seafood place she frequented. It was nice, and homey. She ordered a soda and the shrimp platter. She leaned over and kissed his cheek.

Nikolai ordered salmon and some white wine. He ate slowly, savoring each bite. He looked out the window at the bay.

Alexis ate her shrimp with gusto and when she was done, she looked over and saw Nikolai staring out over the bay. She reached across the table and laid her hand on top of his gently, not wanting to ruin the moment.

Nikolai looked across the table into Alexis' eyes. There was a magic glint that said she would never leave him. He looked back out the window and said, "Let's go for a walk."

"That sounds good," Alexis agreed. She paid the check and tip, and the two went outside and started walking. She was happy.

"It sure is," Nikolai said, "All the birds are out now." He rested his head on Alexis' shoulder and held her. Then, he noticed it; Another couple wandering their way down the secluded path. He gripped Alexis' arm and loosened his holster.

"Sweetheart, relax," Alexis told him. "Do not arouse suspicion," she added under her breath.

She pushed him back gently and smiled politely at the couple. They smiled back and she carefully observed them as they walked. They were definitely Eastern European, and she glared at their backs.

Nikolai waved casually at the couple. He thought he saw something familiar in the girl, something about the way she turned away from them as they looked at her. And she definitely had long, black hair. Lydia must have gotten a new partner and come seeking revenge. He gave Alexis the "What do you want to do?" look.

Alexis shrugged and gave the "relax, I've got this," look. She silently withdrew a tranquilizer gun she kept tucked under her shirt, filled it with two tranqs, and silently shot toward the couple. They walked a few feet before collapsing, appearing to be drunk.

She smiled. "Better?"

"Much better," Nikolai said, walking over to confirm his hypothesis. Sure enough, it was Lydia. "Well, what do you know? She was that stupid,'" he said. "I already know what to do with her, but what do we do with her partner?"

"Same thing," Alexis said. "Or we can dump him in the Dumpster behind you," she whispered, nodding behind him.

Nikolai took all of the guy's clothes and equipment from him before looking at Alexis. "He looks a little dull to me. I think he could use a little color, Don't you?" He pointed to her purse where she kept a little makeup.
