Captured for Interrogation

I have a brother and sister, but my brother died in a farm accident and my sister ran away to the city to escape rural life." Nikolai said, pouring the merlot into glasses.

"Awww, I'm sorry about your brother," Alexis said with a sad face. She couldn't imagine life without her older brother. "What about your parents?"

"Both farmers, good people, but they are now passed. Natural causes. I guess that's why it was so easy for me to leave."

"Probably is," Alexis agreed, sipping her wine and nodding approval at it. "It would've been a psychological response. It wasn't easy for me to leave for the CIA; my daddy was still alive."

Alexis sighed. "He raised both me and my brother after our mother died- you no doubt remember that. He was the most understanding person on the planet. Cried when my brother got burned in a fire, but managed to live despite the conditions. Cried when my brother joined the Marines and I joined the CIA. He was happy for us, but also sad." She felt a tear drop. "He always made sure I got what I wanted though- whether it was the latest style of combat boots or a nice pretty dress."

She whipped away another tear. "About a year after I joined the CIA, he was shot. Hunting accident. I was in the middle of an interrogation when I got the call."

She sat closer to Nikolai. "Worst day of my life. I always hoped that he'd walk me down the aisle."

"To lost loved ones," Alexis echoed, clinking glasses with him and taking a sip. "Do you have any more questions for me?" She rested her head on Nikolai's shoulder.

Alexis laughed. "I read. I write. I play poker. I go hunting. I watch TV. I go shopping. Not a whole lot, to be honest."

She snuggled closer to Nikolai, laying her head on his shoulder.

"I have always wanted to try hunting a moose," Nikolai said, "They are so huge. I've never seen one up close but I have always felt that this would be a great hunt to go on."

Alexis shook her head. "I sleep in a tent when I go hunting for long periods of time."

She thought. "Las Vegas is in the middle of the desert, but they do have a fantastic fishing area, if memory serves me. Plus, we're just a few minutes from the Sierra Mountains, which has plenty of deer. I'll pack the tent when we get home." She looked up at him excitedly.

"I can't wait," Nikolai said. He poured some more wine. "What was that Princess bride movie about?"

Alexis smiled. "It's about a woman who lived on small farm and she had only one worker. The two fell deeply in love, but eventually he left to seek his fortunes out at sea and ended up being killed by pirates. She caught the eye of the prince and he set out to make her his bride and a princess. She is kidnapped by three men that were also going to kill her, on the prince's orders. A mysterious figure appears and beats all three men, the ringleader dying from a poison. She runs with him, figuring out he's the pirate who killed her love and practically shoves him down a hill. As he proclaimed his love for her, she realized it was the farm boy she loved. Lots of action and such, and the wedding is put on rush order. The farm boy, with the help of the other two kidnappers, crashes the wedding and saves the princess." She looked at him wistfully, taking another sip of wine.

"That sounds confusing but great at the same time," Nikolai said, looking at the TV. "Can we watch it here?"

Alexis knelt down and searched through the videos and found it. "Yes, we can," she said happily popping it in. "Oh, also, it's kind of a story within a story," she said apologetically.

She bounced over to the bed and snuggled next to him as they started watching it.

Nikolai was excited to see his first American movie. He watched intently, taking in all of the scenes, occasionally asking for a joke explanation. When the movie went off, he turned to Alexis, kissed her forehead, and said, "Thank you for my first American movie."

"You're welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed it," Alexis said with a smile, pleased that he was happy with the movie. "I have several at my house, we won't get bored with watching them. I also have a couple of French films," she confessed. She yawned.

Nikolai carried Alexis to bed, tucking her in. "I'm going to stay up a bit longer to read," he said, "When you wake up, you'll be safe in my arms."

Alexis smiled and yawned again before drifting off into a peaceful slumber.

When she woke up, Nikolai was true to his word, cradling her in his arms. Smiling, she shifted so she could look at him while he slept.

When she saw the flickers of him waking up, she pretended to be asleep.

Nikolai wasn't fooled at all by her ruse. She wasn't making the usual cries she made in her sleep. He reached over, took the vibrator out of a drawer, and buzzed her nipple.

Out of reflex, Alexis playfully hit Nikolai. "Put that thing away, or so help me, God," she teased, kissing his nose and opening her eyes. "How did you know?"
