Alexis spent the whole day at the computer and the phones, getting as updated information as possible, at times screaming herself hoarse.
"Well, I'm sorry," she was telling one contact, "I didn't realize that al Salehi's daughter isn't a true threat. . . SHE NEARLY FUCKING SOLD ME TO THOSE SOLDIERS. I'm sorry if I think that getting her BACK to where I sent her is highly important, because she's not going to stop until she gets what she wants, and I really don't like the idea of dying. GET ME THAT INFORMATION OR I'LL FEED YOU TO RABID VIPERS!" She hung up and groaned. "I really hate stupid people," she said softly.
