"Ahh. . . That would explain how dizzy I felt," she mused. "I'm surprised that I could fight while I was on that, Ketamine wasn't in the CIA training."

"Maybe the alcohol helped? Or maybe I was still in subspace and therefore really in an alternate reality. Or maybe it was the adrenaline."

"Any of those could help," he admitted. "What do you want to accomplish now that we aren't at risk of being killed immediately?"

"Oohh, there's a laundry list," Alexis laughed. "How about it's your turn to have a spa day, since pretty much every day in Siberia after my test was a spa day for me?"

"You can get a massage. You can get a facial- those are very relaxing. You can go to several different types of saunas. You can meditate. Plenty of men go to spas," Alexis said. She slid out of bed and padded over to him. "You take care of me so often, and I just got very pampered over in Siberia. It's your turn."

"Sounds good," he said, heading to the kitchen. He started brewing the coffee and rummaged through the refrigerator for something quick to fix.

Alexis sneaked under him and nudged him out of the way. "I'll make breakfast, go sit down with your coffee," she instructed.

Alexis soon had fresh apple turnovers out of the oven, and she walked over and served him his breakfast. "There we go," she said, kissing his forehead.

"Smells great," he said, digging in. Soon he was on his second helping, and after that he could eat no more. "I'm stuffed," he said.

"Then off to the spa you shall go," she said. "Text me when you're done, there's more to come." She dressed in sweats and drove him to the spa and dropped him off, before heading to the local mall.

Nikolai spent most of the morning getting a massage, some waking on his chest, and in the sauna. Eventually he called Alexis, feeling very much more relaxed than before.

Alexis smiled. "I'm on my way," she promised. Leaving the store she was in, she drove back to the spa and picked him up. "I have booked reservations for dinner," she said with a smile. "They're not until six, though. What would you like to do until about 5, when we should go change?"

Alexis smiled and plugged in some coordinates to her GPS and soon, they arrived at the American History Museum. "I said back in Egypt I'd take you here," she said, getting out of the car.

Nikolai looked up at the outside of the museum, excited. "What do you think I should see first?" he said.

"Well, that depends. America is such a young country," Alexis said, holding out her hand. "So, we should start at the beginning, so colonization by Britain and the Revolutionary War."

Nikola followed her through the exhibits, listening as she explained each one. He enjoyed the war exhibits most of all.

Alexis smiled as she shared her country's history with Nikolai, loving how excited and happy he was. "Well, that concludes it," she said as they finished. "So, what was your favorite part?"

"It was a very fascinating time in history. I have always enjoyed looking at the medicinal side of it, what passed as "medicine" back then," Alexis said, smiling as they walked to the car. "Dress nice, it's kind of a formal place."

When the y returned to the condo, Nikolai put on a shirt, dress pants, a tie and a blazer. "Ready when you are," he said, applying a subtle, musky aftershave.
