Alexis breathed deeply and was actually soon asleep, despite the strange position. She's slept in stranger and more harmful situations.

Halfway through the night, someone opened the door and threw a bucket of cold water on her before lowering the temperature of the room and locking the door again.

Alexis woke up as the cold water hit her and she screamed and she shivered as the temperature lowered. Eventually, though, she fell back asleep.

Before the sun came up, Yeltsin let Alexis down from the ceiling, gave her back her senses, and handed her a sealed envelope and a lighter."You have ten minutes to memorize the bit of information in that envelope and destroy it. If you can keep it from me and my men all day, you pass."

Alexis raised her eyebrows, but she did as she was told. She memorized it in Russian, English, and French, before destroying it. She could do this. No different than CIA training so far.

Yeltsin put Alexis on a leash and led her to a frame. She spread her arms and legs and tied them in place. Two soldiers walked in with bamboo canes, one stood behind her and one in front. "Begin," she said, and the took turns lashing her with them. As soon as one blow landed on her back or ass, another landed on her breasts or stomach.

Alexis did cry out in some pain, Nikolai didn't use the bamboo cane often, and neither did she. She closed her eyes and breathed, however.

The soldiers' rapid pace only picked up, and soon they were striking her at the same time, working her inner thighs, back, and anywhere else they could strike that was sensitive. Alexis could tell she was covered in red stripes already.

Alexis let silent tears run down her face, feeling the welts appear on her skin. Breathing deeply, she remained silent except for a few cries of pain.

Eventually, the sun shone through the windows and the soldiers threw another bucket of ice water over her beaten skin and left her there.

Alexis breathed deeply and heavily, shivering from the cold. The ice water soothed her welted skin a little bit, but it was still nasty looking, and stung. She cleared her mind of the pain and just concentrated on breathing.

Yeltsin came back and ran her hand over Alexis' distressed body. "Feel like talking?" she asked, "All this can go away."

"I was hoping you'd say that," she said smiling. She untied her wrists and arms. "I have something special for you."

"We've expanded away from pain since Nikolai has been here last," she said, showing her to a coffin' shaped container with air lines leading into it. She opened it up and it was filled with salty smelling water. "Get in," she said.

Alexis raised an eyebrow. "Psychological torture now? I'm impressed," she said, getting in. "Oh, this is comfy!" she said.

"Floating, right?" she said. "Enjoy the comfort while it lasts." She shut the lid and left Alexis in utter darkness and silence again.

Alexis hummed softly to herself. She had all sorts of ways to withstand torture, and since this was a psychological thing, she was in her element.

Soon the water seemed to fall away and left her with a floating sensation, like she was in midair. The deafening silence was broken by the sounds of a baby crying, slowly getting louder and louder, followed by adult sobs, then joined by whispers of,"Slut," "He never loved you," "You're too fat and ugly for anyone to love you."

Alexis protested the voices, but her lower lip wobbled, and tears came down her face in rivers. She closed her eyes to stop the flow of tears.

The voices kept coming. "He did it to get away from you". "It's all your fault". Over and over again, demeaning her, breaking her down for god new how long, floating in isolation.

Alexis began reciting a mantra. "He loves me, he cares for me, he's my Rusky and I'm his Snow Princess. . . I can beat this," she whispered softly.

Yeltsin had planned for this eventuality as she listened in. She began piping in little recordings about Alexis' father and brothers. If her file was correct, this would hit a nerve.

Alexis's eyes flashed open dangerously, her calm damaged. "Don't you DARE say a bad word about my father or brother," she hissed.
