A young woman (early-mid 20s?) is out of a job and down on her luck. An older female friend offers her a place to stay BUT... she's must be the housekeeper AND must obey the high school age son. I don't know if sexual control was intended but the young woman has to get the son's permission to leave the apartment to do anything, even grocery shopping. I believe the mother's intent was to make the son more responsible/mature and to teach the young woman how to get along? That actions have consequences? To be less flighty?
