hi there

I published my 1st ever story to this site and it received good reviews and was well read. I'm trying to publish another which is the second chapter but for some reason it's sitting in "Pending Hell" Is there any way to help speed this up?

Thank you

Well, I waited around 4 days the first time, then did a bit of tidying and resubmitted it. I suppose It's been waiting since new years eve?

Maybe that's not long but I have a few more chapters written so am keen to get going!

You have to be patient. That's not that much time. If it gets to 5 days, send a message to Laurel.

Four days is not all that long, truly. I would (ouch) give it 10 days, then PM Laurel.

It's hard to wait, I know.

About 99 percent of the time, my stories take two days to post. I have a story posting tomorrow with a three-day delay. Maybe Laurel took some time off at New Year's and the posting time has slipped. (There is only one submissions editor). I've had a few overlooked. I queried on their status after a week and they got poster quickly after that.

Oh, a final thought. You can open your Pending story if you wish, but if you save it, if you make any changes at all, it immediately drops to be bottom of the list, restarting the process.

will do. How do i do that?

Regards
1.To message Laurel, on the header of this forum page you'll see an envelope next to your username click that envelope and select Start new Conversation, that's how you start an off-line conversation with any forum user

2. In the Recipients section type Laurel, there are several Laurels but the Laurel you want is the only Laurel whose username is simply Laurel.

3. Be polite and do not expect a response, she's pretty busy with folks

For a point of reference only, I have been posting here for going on nine years, and have approximately 70 stories with zero rejections. I submitted my latest story on December 27th and it posted on January 1st.

My stories tend to be longer, which I assume takes more time for the bots or Laurel to review so I have come to expect it to take three to five days from submission to posting.
