Canes....Love 'em, Hate 'em, or Undecided?

I was perusing the library today, after a decidedly wonderful cane scene last night, and realized it's been quite a while since we've had a thread devoted to my favorite instrument of pleasure and pain....

the wonderful, delightful, exquisite...

CANE.

So. Let's have a little chat. Are you a masochist like me? In love with those rattan wonders? I'm partial to a heavier 12mm rattan cane. Sometimes I am given, and enjoy, a plain old down and dirty beating with it...heavy strikes, one after another, but last night I was lucky enough to have it used in such a way that left me in a puddle.....a couple hundred lighter strikes, followed by me begging and pleading for him to "HIT me please Sir" and him complying with all the force that I begged from him.

A happy night was had by both. *grin*

Of course, I have heard that there are those who really fear this instrument. Tell us why?

And those of you that are undecided? You chime in too....

Dom/mes? What makes this a favorite instrument of yours? What are some of your favorite techniques to use? Do you prefer to use it as a punishment tool only, or do you keep it in your toy bag for any sort of play that comes up?

Inquiring minds want to know all about canes...

Oh I for one love my cane indeed! I haven't used it much, but I like the effect it have on the sub that I use it on, either it be hard strokes, or multiple lighter strokes rapidly given. And it leaves such pretty red stripes

A cane is a no-go for me. Basically I was beaten black and blue by an arse-hole step father with a large stick as a child. I mean seriously beaten. I can remember being bruised (with welts) from the back of my knees up to the middle of my back.

Kinda put me off the whole cane thing...

LOL, so you got them, twin?!!!! Have to say I am all for the thicker model too, but damn if he doesn't nearly always go for that thin little wispy 6mm one out of all the ones I made just so he can watch me jump with every snappy, stinging stroke....wonder if it might get lost in the shift. Gee, I better make sure I keep a close eye on it hadn't I?

Just like any impliment, in the hands of a responsible Dom, I think it could be rather pleasurable. I've never had one used on me, so I can't speak from personal experience.

(To me, it looked like it could have been the result of a crop, whip or something else, but cane was the first thing that came to my mind. ) I mean it was total abuse. I have used the cane infrequently. Primarily when we are not in an intense scene, but are being playful. For example, he was painting my toe nails and the nails of a friend and was warned that if he slipped, he would get a sharp, stingy whack! Of course, I bumped his hand a few times so I could deliver that delcious punishment. A grand time was had by all!

What brought me into this thread is technique. Puhleeze, share your favorite techniques as I am still learning about this tool. It is fascinating when something that seems so one dimensional and as having limited uses on the store shelf can be used in a variety of ways.

Love 'em!!! Huge fan of stingy pain, and it's the sting that keeps giving and giving. Rattan and synthetic materials. Definitely worth begging for! (Only bested by the bullwhip - which IS scary and can and has made me reconsider my love of sting quite easily. )

Bastinado truly and agonizingly hurt. I would have desperately crawled away were I not tied down, but even that was highly erotic (afterwards lol).

Interesting. One person's "total abuse" is another person's happily whipped ass. It's all in the context, and all in the consent. Be careful you don't put your own thoughts and feelings about masochism off on someone else. I, personally like my ass several different shades of bruise.

Yes, I did finally invest in one. *grin*

I may have to broaden the collection to more than that though....

I actually would like to have an even heavier 16mm cane.

We bought our 12mm from Shadow Project Design Canes, however they are currently taking time off, and won't be making any canes till sometime in 2005.

Shadow Project carried a 16mm cane. If anyone has another source for canes that they are happy with, I'd love to have it. I am only interested in canes of the same quality as shown on the above website--please don't bother sending me to places like JTs Stockroom or that ilk. While I love browsing those sites, I am seeking something VERY special.

I'm not a huge fan of canes...way too much sting factor for me personally (I tend to love the thud more than the sting). The whistle of one in the air is enough to make me shiver in fear.

But I do love the look of the welts and have huge admiration for those who use (and take) canes well.

Okay, you've caught me... I've spent much of the past hour drooling my way through the different pages of canes4pain...

I am a cane aficionado - have been since the first time I heard of them (gods and goddesses, how many long years ago?). There is nothing like the swish of one of my canes as it cuts through the air on its way to her bottom or upper thighs. Nothing like the "snap" as it makes contact with that tender flesh. No other tool, except perhaps the shaft of a crop, can come near the visual sensation as the cane rebounds, leaving its white stripe that so quickly turns pink, then red, as the welt swiftly rises to the eye.

Nothing can quite compare to the sensations she feels - the immediate sting or thud depending on the weight and diameter of the cane as well as the speed of its impacting her body, followed by the strangely cold burn that quickly grows hot and spreads throughout her bottom and her body.

There is a reason the English have loved their canes for so long...

Oh, I totally agree with you. S/He (I'm not sure of the gender of the said ass) might have thoroughly enjoyed it, but I had never seen an ass that black, blue and red.

I like my to have my own little masochistic butt whooped also. I love the sting, I love the thud. I even love bruises, but, to me (my opinion, just like in my original post) it looked abusive.

LOL, they are identical to the ones I made, right down to the black handle end.....though they don't have the 6mm with aboriginal art on like mine is. ...oh and I think I rounded off my ends more so they had a safe dual purpose.

LOL, I did remark to a certain man last weekend I am craving to make many more canes, just need to find where to get my resources here.......oh, and finish with this endless packing. Yah, get the keys tomorrow (or maybe today if lucky) and then the renovating rush begins, interspersed with moving bit by bit. Now me thinks you both need to come visit so I can fit the canes to your personal requirements!!!....and watch their virgin sessions of course.

What do I love about them?

The efficacy. They can double someone over screaming with the least little action.
The can also, like any toy, be used as the lightest tease.

Love 'em. I don't use them often, cause my latest girl is new to wiiwd. Judging by her reaction to the riding crop, I think she'll love them as much as I do, eventually. But my last one, oh how she'd beg.

Its taken a while for me to get into the pain aspects of the lifestyle.

He has been understanding and we have varying sessions including times when i am begging to have some pain; harder and faster (which he does not give into) than He is administering. Plus other sessions that just damn hurt!!

The cane is my most hated instrument of torture.
I manage the crop, flogger, clamps and His hand (the hardest of any implement) but the cane....the very word makes me instantly behave or offer any service immediately.

Its so narrow, the pain is finely localised to that one precise spot.

He loves to watch my face at when He sishes in the air, I flinch before it lands ~ not a good idea

I hate it when He ficks it over my nipples back and forth ~ it gives extreme pain for a second; not all flicks land which makes the anticipation of the flick almost unbearable. Again I can beg, plead offer the world (and its wife) to avoid it.

He refuses to allow the cane to be a 'punishment only' tool as he loves to see me squirm and cry at thought of what is to come.
