Cancer sucks

:rose: A prayer for you and your family *bratcat*:rose:

So sorry to hear that

All of you will be in my prayers Bratcat. My heart goes out to you.

My thoughts will be with your brother in law, your sister and your entire family in this very trying time. I hope for all of you to draw upon your own inner strength and each other to see through this battle.

My brother-in-law is only 37 years old and was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer 3 years ago. He is a golf pro in Alberta and has had to take an extended leave because of the continuous side effects of his treatment.

Well, he was starting to feel better, the cancer appeared to be under control and he went in for a routine MRI. The MRI showed a different spot in his brain that looked a little suspicious so he was sent for a PET scan which shows a more in-depth view. From the time of the first MRI to the PET scan, the spot had grown by 8.5 times its original size.

He underwent surgery today to remove this "spot" and do an immediate biopsy on it. It turns out that this "spot" has metastasized (duplicated) from the original cancer and they were not able to remove it all. There are no known curative treatments for this type of cancer....he now has to undergo immediate stronger chemotherapy treatments...and there is no guarantee.

If you could find it in your heart...please say a prayer for him...

I'm really sorry to hear this Bratcat. I do wish him luck. I just found out this past week that one of my best friend's fiance just was diagnosed with cancer. They're both 22, and he apparently had his liver attacked. They don't know where it comes from and he's taking heaps of tests now. I called her this weekend and told her I'm there for her 24hrs/day, and if she wants me to jump on a train, I'll do that. At the same time I didn't really know what to say... :(

cancer sucks

Yes, it definitely does. I will live with its scars for the rest of my life, and I'm not even the one who suffered with it.

I'm sorry Brat, my thoughts are with you and yours.

My thoughts go out to your brother,(and you,)at this most horrible time. I don't normally pray, but, like I said, my heart goes out to you and your family. I hope he pulls through just fine, Cath.

Be thankful for what you have..***** is so very short.

God Bless him, hon! My prayers are with him. I know the stresses related, I've been through it with my daughter and my granddaughter.

I will pray that God spares your brother-in-law and takes mine from this earth instead. The sooner the better, too.

Actually, I take that back. I want mine to live in Hell for all eternity. But I'll still pray for yours.

Chey, I'm not supposed to laugh on a serious thread...

BC, cancer sure does suck. You and yours are in my prayers.:rose:

Prayers and positive thoughts headed your way, your families way and his way.

:D

bc

Hugs to you, bc, and my prayers for your b-i-l, sister, and you.

damn

He is in my prayers too bratcat.
It is such a cruel disease and no one is safe. It has touched us all. I posted a thread a couple of weeks or so ago about the disease too.
My aunt had surgery to remove her bladder and it appears that they have removed it all. Time will tell
My other friend had his prostate removed and is hopeful that they got it all.
Another friend just passed away up in Edmonton after chemo etc. I get pissed off just thinking about it. He works his whole life and retires only to die a short time later of Cancer.

BC my positive thoughts and prayers go out for your brother-in-law,your sister and all your family. Love to you all:heart:
