*bratcat* said:My brother-in-law is only 37 years old and was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer 3 years ago. He is a golf pro in Alberta and has had to take an extended leave because of the continuous side effects of his treatment.
Well, he was starting to feel better, the cancer appeared to be under control and he went in for a routine MRI. The MRI showed a different spot in his brain that looked a little suspicious so he was sent for a PET scan which shows a more in-depth view. From the time of the first MRI to the PET scan, the spot had grown by 8.5 times its original size.
He underwent surgery today to remove this "spot" and do an immediate biopsy on it. It turns out that this "spot" has metastasized (duplicated) from the original cancer and they were not able to remove it all. There are no known curative treatments for this type of cancer....he now has to undergo immediate stronger chemotherapy treatments...and there is no guarantee.
If you could find it in your heart...please say a prayer for him...
