And a whole fresh outlook. The country feels quite different now that the controlling, conniving, contemptible Stephen Harper has been ousted.

I just want to celebrate, so drinks are on me.

Wasn't this news like a couple weeks ago? I don't follow Canadian news much because I think Canucks are Satans bowel movements but I'm pretty sure this has been extensively covered already.

Careful shit flows down hill and you are beneath us. In more ways than one. But that's for another thread.

Well, I'm not a big fan of the Lib party, but I'm ready for a change in government. And having a fresh, young PM is a good thing. The cabinet is a great big public relations win, ethnically diverse, gender equal, ministers selected for expertise rather than patronage. It's so crazy, it just might work.

A 43 year old drama teacher has all the qualifications you need to run a country .....
oh wait his dad was PM so that qualifies him ...Right...cause his dad did such a great job lol

There are no qualifications to be a politician. Young and cute works as well as savvy and astute.

And a one trick oil pusher from the west is any better?

So teachers aren't good enough to run for public office?

Canada has politics? I thought they beat each other over the head with moose jaws and the last man standing got to be in charge.

it used to be settled by a hockey game. Whoever won the last fight got to move into Maple Syrup Mansion and become Commander Canuck.

But the Queen couldn't understand the rules, so we had to adopt the much simpler Westminster Parliamentary System.

I think it's very good of her maj to let you savages run your own country. Let us know how it works out in a few hundred years.

And good to see you around, dude.

I'm just hoping we do a better job than our cousins to the south of us. Fingers crossed!
