Are you able to envision thoughts and ideas beyond the black and white confines that your mind is in?

Never really thought of myself as a Black and White kind of thinker. Gray scale maybe, hopefully full color at least 8bit. I do try to think "outside" the box.

That is an unusual quality for a man. Typically, men only see the black and white...

Wait a minute... I heard that dogs only see black and white. Are you implying that us men are dogs.

BowWow, I mean, OK, you've got me.

Seriously, I try to never limit myself with my own experiences or biases.

I've often said...

I have trouble thinking outside the box...but once dragged out of the box, I can take the ball and run with it!

All the time.... Critical thinking skills... looking at something from more than one way or point of view.... To me the whole world is just shades of gray. :)

I don't like boxes or feeling boxed in at all. Fortunately I was always able to envison many varied thoughts and ideas (most times feeling out "there" on my own) outside of the boundaries set as guidelines. As I have gotten older this "thinking for myself" idea has become easier for me, and I am thankful that I can voice my ideas and opinions without having people necessarily agree or understand me.

Although at times I dream in black and white, I realize that there are usually several sides to a particular issue, and continue to learn to be tolerant of other's closemindedness, while still staying openminded enough to take in many ideas at one time.

Heh...easy question, but not such an easy answer.

In general, I tend to see things as black and white, with only a few shades of grey. I freely admit when I can see no good answer to a question.

However, once I've made an opinion, it's damned hard for me to change my mind about it. I've no problem believing that other folks may have completely different opinions, but I also believe that they're wrong. I figure that I've done a lot of research before I form an opinion. I've done my homework, and made a decision I can defend with evidence and reason, which makes it difficult for someone else to have a different opinion and be correct. :)

However, I have changed my mind when better or more complete evidence has come along. I'm open to listening to new ideas and concepts. That doesn't mean I'll accept them or even tolerate them.

Yeah, I know. That makes me a bastard. I can live with that, too. :)

A better question. Can you define your box?

I don't have a box, but I can describe a nice one that would be trimmed or shaven with puffy wet lips.

well hell yeah

Sure I can think outside the Box...at the same time I push the envelope and I am proactive. Of course this doesn't mean that I have no limits to my thoughts. Those limits are somewhere within the BOX for which I see no walls. Shit I guess I can't think outside the box after all.

I disagree; I don't think one sex has more ability to recognize the difference between absolutes and points in a continuim than the other.

I have trouble seeing outside my box, and I recognize that my box is larger than some, and smaller than others. I do admire the ability of others to think outside their box, but there is a difference between just having a larger box and being able to think outside of it - if you know what I mean.

I also believe there is a difference between being able to think outside the box, and the difference between being able to see the shades of grey, or only being able to see black and white.

My whole life has been "outside the box"

So much so, that I even have my own drummer to play for me.
