Is it unhealthy for a man to continue masturbating after he has depleted his supply of sperm? If so, how can a man orgasm without ejaculating?

no fluid required

What causes ejaculation is a spinal cord reflex. The fluid comes from two main sources, the seminal vesicles and the prostate gland. Right after ejaculation, there is not much fluid but the reflex can take place. There just wont be much ejaculate or seminal fluid. So, yes it is quiet possible to keep masturbating and keep having orgasms after the fluid is depleated. Most men don't however because motivation and the ability to be aroused diminishes right after an orgasm, but many men have more than one orgasm in a day or during one session with a partner. There is just much less fluid after the first orgasm. Masturbation is self limiting in that we stop when it doesn't feel good anymore. There is not much chance that one could be harmed by masturbation.

By the way, Orgasm requires a brain. Men with spinal cord injuries that do not crush the centers of erection and ejaculation still have erections and ejaculate. However, they cannot feel their penis or the experience the pleasure of orgasm. In reality, ejaculation is controlled in the lower spinal cord while orgasm takes place in the brain. Men with spinal cord injuries have fathered children but they don't have orgasms. In fact, they have to look at their penis to know that it is erect!
