Can we use website names without the dot com?

I am going to try posting the story with PornHub and OnlyFans referenced but no dot com used. I will let you all know how it goes.

A few months ago, at the end of a story, I put :

"Instagram & Twitter: heyallstories"

The story was approved but that part was removed. First time I've ever seen a removal like that.

But if you say, "I want to thank heyall, who you can find @heyallstories" then that's okay I think. I thanked an illustrator using the @ adress but without mentioning the specific site.

But if it's part of a story, like "she created an onlyfans account" then that's fine, as mentioned above.

I received permission from an Amazon writer to write a variation of her story idea and put my own spin on it. I wrote an introduction explaining this, naming the author and thanking her. Lit deleted the word Amazon from the introduction.

There was a story in the news about some high school students (I'm sure they were all 18 y/o seniors) who took the time to discover which words thier high school's software ****** out. The overwhelming majority being double entendres or "legitimate" words that were at times used as slang (box, muffin, kitty, melon, were cited as examples). Then they all wrote papers that ended up being printed as something like:

**** ***** and ***** ***** *** *** four and ***** ******* city of the ***** **** Los **** del *****

I posted my story the using OnlyFans with no dot com used and got the following feedback.

  • Kindly remove website names and URLs from your story. Thanks!
I changed OnlyFans to Fans. I think readers will get the reference. Hopefully that works.

This would appear to be inconsistent with the site's stated rule, so you might try pushing back, especially if it is clear that you are not trying to direct traffic.

Just for the sake of anecdotal evidence:

One of my characters posted a relationship-related question on Reddit (specifically named) and the story has a few paragraphs dedicated to responses and the types of answers she got back. I specifically said "Reddit" in the story and submitted it with that whole eyes-closed/bracing-for-explosion-while-deactivating-the-bomb feeling but there was no issue.
