Crossing the border illegally is a misdemeanor. If you are ticketed for speeding, or even for DUI, society does not and should not classify you as a "criminal."

yes, he did the deed and must pay the price. Whether or not they were undocumented should never have even been a factor. Who is also to blame, predominantly to blame imo? All those stoking this same fear and hatred of immigrants, be it media, presidents or influencers. Their words affect how badly informed, often vulnerable people, perceive a situation and then act upon it. Here, he was convinced (because he was being told lies over and over again by people of power) that he was a victim in America because of immigrants... that they were taking jobs and housing away from himself and his peers, were getting free shit he either couldn't afford (because of them) or worked his skin off to afford. He was being sold a dirty package over and over and over again by the same people who will deny any culpability for it as he serves time.
