Some on this board demand to know what Harris would do about immigration, but in fact there is no reason why she should do anything differently than how it's done now. It is not a problem to solve. Immigrants, legal or illegal, are not bringing in disease . . they are not bringing crime, they actually are more law-abiding than native citizens . . . they're not burdening public service without paying taxes . . . they're not even trying to vote illegally . . .
Immigration does drive down working-class wages. That is the only downside to it -- and even there, it's really not all that bad.
The Republicans -- and I mean the voters, not the pols -- should feel really deeply ashamed of how they scuttled W's immigration-reform bill in 2007. That was pure xenophobia and nativism, there was no excuse at all for it.
