Are my eyes deceiving me, or is this guy that Bill Clinton is hanging out with, a familiar face?

Lets see, Wright is an attention whore and Clinton is a politician. Why would this surprise anyone?
Don't forget the Dem convention when Obama gave the speech that launched him into the national spotlight. Who was that smiling couple in the background?

Hm. A pic of Clinton shaking Rev Wright's hand...with no context.

Jac, cut it the fuck out. I'm not happy with all the shit going down about this Rev, because it's all just a really desperate and stupid smokescreen to stop anyone from realizing that Obama might be a perfectly good pres. I'm certainly not happy if Hillary is making use of it any more than anyone else. I don't like siblings squabbling and to me, the two Dem candidates are coming across just that way.

BUT, to put up a picture with NO CONTEXT of a handshake makes me think that you're stupid. Unless, of course, you're campaigning for McCain. Is that what you're doing?

So. What WAS the context--because, the other implication is that if you told us the context the picture wouldn't mean shit. Was this a fund-raising dinner back in 1999? Did Clinton make his rounds and shake EVERYONE'S hand. So it doesn't mean shit?

Either give me context, like "Clinton shakes the hand of his spiritual advisor Rev. Wright who was a father figure to him for 20 years" or shut the fuck up. Or do you really want people to see this and say, "Gosh, they're BOTH in bed with Wright, I'm voting for McCain." Cause that's ALL the picture implies that YOU want people to think.

In short, posting that picture and giving all the McCain supporters something to crow about is one of the stupidest things you could have done. I'm moving to another country. All the people in this one do is stab each other in the back leaving us with the worst leaders in office. I'm sick and tired of it.

Want some cheese with that whine?

Politicians whore themselves out to whoever will do them the most good at that moment. Don't act shocked at reality.

If you want me to talk to you reasonably, then talk to me reasonably. You're overreacting.

I must say that the big conspiracy you all conjure up whenever any of the candidates so much as farts gets as tiresome as this campaign season has gotten. They are two men at a banquet who know who each other is and who meet in the aisle between tables. What do you expect two civilized men to do in this instance? Dueling pistols? Spit?

You didn't answer her question, and I for one would like to know the answer.

Why did you post this and why should we care?
I didn't answer her question because she was being rude and hostile without provocation and I am not going to tolerate that behavior any longer.

You were polite, so I will answer you. Nobody should care about Obama and Wright any more than you should care about Bill Clinton being around this guy. However, since people have made such a huge issue about Wright and Obama, it stands that Bill Clinton should be held equally accountable for his associations with Wright.

Obama has paid dearly for Wright, and Hillary Clinton has profited enormously. Given that her husband has associated with this man, it's time Hillary got tarred with him as well.

As for McCain profiting from this? He's got Hagee to pay for, and he will be brought to account for seeking that hatemongering nutcase's endorsement. He will be brought to account at the worst possible time - the general election. The laughter that McCain fans are enjoying now will not be there when that bill comes due.

That is why this picture is worth caring about.

Why would you expect that?

The far left attack their own with the same frenzy they attack the right. Kind of explains why the Dems are so entertaining this year. :D

Ummm. Whoever dredged this picture up in the first place isn't too sophisticated politically--nor, I'd say, is anyone who tried to make something nefarious out of it other than yet another political banquet that anyone in the tent with the money to attend is welcome to attend--without the expectation of finding a dinner fork in their back sometime during the evening.

Maybe BBQ night down at the trailer park office . . .

Actually, Wright attended the White House on a couple of occasions during the Clinton administration (and is rumored to have been one of the pastors Bill called when the Lewinski story broke). It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, his church is large and quite powerful in Chicago (kind of a big city). Trying to make political hay out of it is kind of pointless. Bill knew Wright about as well as McCain knows Hagee, so there really is nothing to talk about (unless you are a complete conspiracy nutjob).

As I said, innuendo and political trailer park mentality.

I see now. Hands in ALL the cookie jars. I didn't know that.

The person may be overreacting, but they are correct.

A picture without context, is an insidious thing. It's worth a thousand words, since people make their own conclusions. A picture with context, at least, gives us a reference point from which we can judge the evidence.
