Can it be that I seek to live a virtual fantasy in my stories by creating characters that do what i wish to do.

A fulfilment accomplished indirectly, an actualization. A desire which finds reverberations and vibes echoing my cravings. Maybe other readers have it too, because I have seen them appreciate the content. Maybe in real world desires cannot be fulfilled the way it can in the writers world, where we orchestrate events, including the way we want reactions to our expresssions and acts.
May be worlds get created in this manner and perhaps others with similar vibes can live together sharing such experiences and reinforcing each others thoughts and feelings. It is heartening to see that others have similar desires and are desirous of playing complementary roles that fulfil our mutual needs.
May be we need to be more innovative in creating ways of finding fulfilment of our desires in a manner that makes all the participants relish such indulgence.

It's when you start writing stories where the nerdy main character doesn't get the mega-blonde to fulfill his every fantasy when you have to start to worry.

If you look at your current draft and the MC isn't getting any you have two choices a) suicide b) posting it to Loving Wives...

(note: currently writing first Loving Wives story...)

Either you’re having fun writing (and that kindasorta automatically means it resonates with you) or you’re writing for money. Maybe both, I guess, but I certainly hope you enjoy what you write.

Of course, that is rather obvious. A though, I try to put a bit of realism in it. Usually the worst thing that happens is a sudden break-up, often one that catches the main male character by surprise. But let's face it, that has been quite common in Western countries for almost sixty years now.

Narratophilia is real and you don’t get to judge. 🫣
What has really turned me on is another author taking my fictionalized self and subjecting her to all manner of twisted shit.

I like it when readers tell me that they came to my work, so I’m responding in kind 🤭.

Hmm, that sounds like a challenge. Might have to tweak my Summer lovin' story.

To the OP's question, I started writing at a time where I needed to fill a void in my life and to release to resultant pent-up feelings. My early stories were a reflection of my desires at that time, and how I wished my world had been. Once those thoughts were out of my system and my outlook improved, I've moved to writing stories that are interesting and don't have an image of me involved. Sometimes. Characters with my desires naturally still pop up.

I'm humbled by how many people across the world like what I do for a hobby. It's pretty amazing.

Challenge accepted. How about going on an all naked cruise with mum and her twin son and daughter? The daughter is a lesbian but is ok with using her brother as a dildo. Mum got involved when they got stuck in a hotel for 2 weeks quarantine during covid.

I wrote a story about the twins, and it was the first that didn't have an element of my desires in it - just to keep the post sort of on track...

Fantasy is part of it. But not every thing I write is on my bucket list of perversions. Sometimes its just the challenge of writing something hard to sharpen my skills. Not all experiments succeed, but no time writing is ever completely wasted. It always teaches something.

I like to experiment too, and some of the stories I've written are more disturbing than erotic.

I often say that I get to "enjoy" my stories long before anyone else has a chance to do that. And, yeah, I write my favorite kinks - real or imagined - my stories = my kinks. :)

What I write isn't reflective of moi, or my lifestyle choices. They are fiction, which I write for my own enjoyment.
There is however, a little bit of me in everything I write. I think it's almost impossible for our own views and experiences not to pervade what we write.
Our views on the world, the way we speak...
It happens subconsciously I think. IMO...
There are only 7 story plots, girl gets girl. Girl loses girl... Rags to riches, riches to rags, and rise again. (Or some shit like that)
It is how we manipulate those plot lines, build our characters, crate tension, build a pathway for our heroines to travers those pitfalls that tells the story.
Each story I write isn't what I would do, nor does it reflect my views... It is fictitious.
When I say there is always a little of me, in every story. I mean it is in the dialogue. Is that something I would say... Something my friends or colleagues would say, do, or react.
That's how we make a story come alive. By making the characters seem real... They are based on real conversations.

Old saying.... Truth is stranger than fiction.

I see I already answered this, but a new thought came to me. I assume that the majority of stories on here are like that. As long as you stay within site guidelines, you're doing fine.

I can only wish that half the things I've written about (for the male characters anyway) had actually happened to me.
