can connect to lit, but not the forums?

i have a friend who's in the UK who's experiencing an unusual issue: she can browse lit, but she cannot access the forums, getting a DNS error every time she does so. she can open other sites just fine: just not the lit forums. she's using freedom2surf as her ISP.

i'm awaiting technical specs of her set-up although i really don't think the issue is on her end.

Probably not thesame thing butI sometimes have trouble accessing lit forums also, she could try using a different url.

That is the one I'm using now, although I usually use https://forum.literotica.com/index.php? often if one of those is not working, the other is.

that didn't seem to address it. hm.

here's the user's specs: p4 running XPS2, IE7 running through a billion 7402VGP wireless router. norton firewall/antivirus and have lit set as a permitted site. tried it with norton disabled but it makes no difference.

while it's tempting to suggest she use a real browser, i somehow don't think that's it.

Well that was what I would suggest...pick your favorite and tell her it is the only way.

Another thing would be for her to put Lit on her list of permitted sites, thereby making sure it is not getting blocked by her computer.

She could also check with her ISP if they block any sites, she doesn't have to name the site just ask if they block any sites.

ezzy: the urge to evangelize about browsers is pretty powerful, i'll admit... :>

she can hit other parts of lit, just not the forums, which indicates to me that there's gotta be something very wacky going on: she can browse stories but not the forums...i mean, WTF?

i'll ask her to confirm re: her ISP but given the foregoing, that isn't sounding terribly likely...but hey, can't hurt.

My firewall once blocked me from accessing my email and a few boards, maybe checking the firewalls settings can help.
