Oh shit!!! My chapter 5 is up, but we are still waiting for 4. I did put a note in and I only submitted it last night. That must be a first, posted within 24 hours.

This came from another post from someone who obviously posted a story and had it posted within 24 hours. I have a story that's still waiting for publication since 6/18. I sent a note to submit@literotica.com but is there anything else I can do to speed up publication of my submissions? Send it HTML???

I've asked this same question in my e-mail and I haven't heard anything yet (of course, to be fair, I just sent it this AM, 8 EST)

Thanks for any help that anyone can give me!

Yes.

Show me your nipples, and I'll have a word with Laurel concerning your stories.

(Your clitoris might just be OK)

When there is a contest going on, like there is now, entries get priority. I have entered two contests, not the current one, and both stories were posted the day after I submitted them.:)

Has anyone viewed the story? I submitted one that no one viewed at all for over a week. When I resubmitted it, it got Bam! the 6 views and was on in 4 days. I took it as something with the sending stuff. I don't know, but maybe that's why.
Goodluck!

:D The same thing happened to me early this month. I submitted a story on a Sunday night and it had no views by the following Saturday. I resubmitted it and it got three views right away, and posted in a week, which was about the normal time then.

I always check to see if it's been viewed and they are usually viewed atleast twice by the next day or so, but then it still takes a week to post!!

You lost me here, Velvetpie: How can anyone view it if it hasn't been posted? I ain't a proverbial dumb blonde, but I'm still pretty thick. I thought they had to be posted so people COULD view 'em.

It shows as a view when the Lit people check the story prior to posting it. Typical for my stuff is 3-6 views before it is posted to the site.

Waiting sucks. ;)

Yui ^_^

Thanks Yui,
I take it you mean it shows on our personal list in place of the 'pending', and other members don't see it! (Told you I'm thick:D )

So why all the views needed? (she asks in puzzlement.) If it were up to me I would check it and either accept or reject it. I just ain't got the hang of things yet:eek: Maybe I should stick to what I'm best at - and no prizes for guessing what that is

Two things happen to a story or poem. (A) You SUBMIT it and (B) it is POSTED. There may be a few hours or a few weeks between the two events. Sometimes something is submitted but never posted. On the other hand, when you POST something on a thread like this one, the two events are simultaneous.

The VIEWS are persons, especially Laurel, looking over something that has been submitted to decide whether or not it is acceptable. Or, it could be the person who submitted it looking it over or making corrections.

Thanks Boxlicker101,
That helped make things clearer

You're welcome. And I should have better manners. Welcome to Lit and, especially, to AH. This is a fun place to be.

:rose: :rose: :rose: I would send you a dozen long-stemmed but they are rationed here.

If you think that will help, I will not only show you, you can give 'em a suck and twiddle:devil: :D

Got A Reply!

I got a reply back, probably from Laurel and/or Manu about this question. It stated that they are a week behind in submissions and that they are working to get it down to 2-3 days. They also are taking contest entries first because of the deadline involved with that.

Also, according to the FAQ, audio submissions take longer because they have to be handled differently. They were very nice and very prompt in answering my question.

Thanks everyone!
