i got a pic on floppy disc which i want as my av but i have no way of doing it

is there a friendly soul who will help me out.

ta :)

The mechanics of it are described in detail over in the how-to forum, but it boils down to being able to read the floppy. If you can either edit it there or move it to your hard-drive to trim/resize it as necessary it's no different from however you got the one you're currently using to work...

i have no way of resizing it as i dont have adobe or something similar. i can get it onto my hard drive no problem. ( i only knew how to scan it in when i was at a friends house earlier

if you can post the full size pic on here a kind soul more then likely would resize it for you

Am teasing you.... maybe. Maybe not. Never know with us woman do ya?

i tried posting it earlier but it is a little to big.

*sometimes i want to throw my computer out the window*

If you open it up on your hard drive - what programe does it open in ?

If you are using a current windows package it should use Microsoft photo editor

Just go into image / resize / and reduce it by 20% or more - might take a few trial and errrors I think the largest you can have is 150 x 150 pixels

Then resave the new sixe and bobs your uncle

if i go to my computer and open it from the a drive it just opens up the pic but not in microsoft package.

is window 98 to old.

i think i need to swallow a computer how to book

Have you tried asking this on the HowTo board?
Maybe someone over there can help.

they are all asleep over that way., but i've left a thread anyhow

i have managed to resize it on a hp imaging package i have but can't convert it to a jpeg file

unfortunately no i dont.

i have it as a tif file and a bmp file

thanks

love your av. really encapsulating but still mysterious

the eyes have seen a million things it looks like (yours ?)

Here's the first version. I cleaned up the edges a bit so the image stands out more.

Thanks for the compliment, but the av's not me. It's Katzen, the Human Cat. She's got a surgically implanted tail, elongated eyes, and now she also has whiskers, I believe. I sold her husband (the Enigma) a pair of glasses many years ago. They were both very nice people.

Here's the third version. Not much different from the first one I posted, but I cleaned up the right side a bit more.
