Ok I got this idea and I hope maybe someone might do it. It'll be about two guys let's say they are about 21 (i'm kinda tired of the same old 18 yr old cliche)

Now they have been best friends since grade school. They went to college together and everything. Guy1 has a lovely mother early 40's and guy2 never had a mother. she died when he was only 7 and he never had a father. He lived with his grandparents but conisered guy1's mom as his own mother.

Well anyway, the guys come home to stay for the holidays or whatever. Guy1 brings his gf from college too and they are always going out leaving Guy2 alone with the mom. so they become close and soon enough Guy2 has to tell his best friend that he's marrying his mom. what do u all think?

It looked like something I might wanna do and could see unfolding until you got to "marrying". Couldn't the guy1 be gone and guy2 be visiting guy1's house until somehting unfolds... and he starts to ohhh until guy2 and the mother wind up as roomies for the summer or somthing... and he gets her pregnant and the hump and humm.... ok... tell me what you think

Ease into it. Guy2 doesn't have a date, so he take Guy1's mom on double dates. Guy1 is cool because his bestfriend and mom are having a good time. Give Guy1 enough time to warm up to the idea.

Another twist could be:

guy2 had a father but dad kicked him out because he droped out of college.
Out of an act of friendship and compassion guy1's family offer to let him live with them so long as he promises to get a job (which is what guy2 wanted to do anyways). Guy1 is still at college while guy2 is living in his home with his mother.

Guy2 asking to Guy1's mother to marry, but what I was saying is to make telling Guy1 what's going a major part of the story. I see some really good conflict there.

Putting Guy2 with the mom can be done in various ways, bottom line "bestfriend becomes stepdad"

waitaminit... on KOTH, Hanks dad married someone he went to school with... something like that? Guy1 would never be able to double date with Guy2 and his mom tho...he'd probably be freaking uncomfortable... but if he did adjust, maybe he could pick up pointers by watching his mom with Guy2? Ohhh my brain is pickled...lol

and in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Bill's dad married a classmate of Bill's ...woah, was that awkward, but in the end, they all lived happily ever after.
