Thanks, Richard. While I'm officially "retired," though it was mostly against my will, I'm often busier than before. I do financial consulting for a number of clients, I'm on the board of our local uni's medical centre, I do volunteer work with some charities, I continue mentoring a number of my girls at my old company, etc.

The sandals you are wearing in this shot are really elegant and in my mind are more stylish than the wedges currently fashionable. They show you to be a woman of taste. I am not a shoe fetishest by nature, but I think they enhance a wonderful photo.

It's happy you like my heels so much, Alex. They were a real indulgence at the time. Adjusting for inflation in the interim they'd probably run $800 to $1,000 today. But I thought they looked ultra feminine and accentuated all the good features of my legs, specially the calves. All my running paid off IMHO.

Don't be so down on the wedge shape. For casual wear in the summer I still love my high-heeled espadrilles.

You're right about that. But my photographer's current gear (dSLR, zoom and reg lenses) only travel in their own separate bag. At least he doesn't need his old lead-foil lined bags to prevent his film from fogging.
