I come upstairs to check on you before I go. You are still in bed. "Baby?" I ask, shaking you lightly as I sit on the bed. "Baby, I have to go pick up Don. You feel ok this morning?"

I shake my head and look at you, wishing you didn't have to go. "Don't feel too good, I'll let you know if I get worse, okay.""

"Okay baby." I kiss you again. "I hope you're okay. We'll be back as fast as we can, and I'll leave On at the bar and come home if you need me to."

I leave for the drive to the distributor across the city and pick up Don. About three hours later, your phone rings and it is Stacie.

"Hey girl, have you talked to Reece?" She asks. I've been trying to reach Don for an hour and am not getting an answer.

"No," I say. I'm over by the toilet again, and I set the phone down for a moment to puke. "Not yet, he said he'd call around lunch. Why, what's wrong, sweetie?"

"Nothing here," she says. "I just needed him to call about some insurance papers, but it's not like him to not answer and they've been gone about two and a half hours. With the weather, well....I'm just worried, maybe."

"Well, the weather would play havoc with the cell signals," I point out. "Do you need anything, sweetie? And how are you doing?" Barf. Lord, I hate morning sickness.

"I'm good," she says, in a worried tone. "But you sound like you're in the middle of it. I don't know WHY we ever agree to let the guys get inside us whenever I feel like you're feeling."

"'Cause we enjoy it," I say dryly as I puke again. "I'm fine, honestly. Just. . . well, you know." Barf. "That."

Stacie tell you to call if you hear from the guys and tells you to take care of yourself and she gets off the phone. After another hour, you have heard nothing from any of us.

I call Stacy. "Any word?" I ask. I am still on the bathroom floor, not feeling good still. "I can't get ahold of either of them. . ."

She says she hasn't heard anything and says she is going to call the highway patrol. As she gets off the phone, your phone rings and it's me.

"Reece! OMGOD what's going on?" I ask, my voice full of worry and concern and anger and love. "What happened? Are you okay?" I was freaking out, and offering silent prayers of thanks.

"We, uh.....we had a wreck," I tell you. "We are at the hospital. I wasn't able to use my phone, I'm sorry baby."

"OMYGOD," I whisper. I get up off the floor, no longer feeling ill. "Are you okay?" I ask. I start getting dressed. "I'm coming to get you, baby."

"Yeah, I, uh.....I think so. Don has a broken arm, and I cut my leg and smashed my knee pretty good, but am pretty much just banged up. But we are okay." I tell you. "But you should not get out in this weather. Not with the baby."

"Reece Grier, I am coming and getting your ass and taking you home and keeping you there," I tell you sternly. "Does Stacy know, or do I need to drop Don off?"

"Um, he's calling her now. I don't know what the plan is," I say, not arguing with you over coming to the hospital.
