I find you crashed on the couch when I get home. "Hey baby," I say, unable to tell if you're awake or not.

I shake my head with no response and go to the kitchen, searching for a beer. "Could have gotten groceries," I mumble.

"Sorry," I say with a bit of a bite. "I didn't realize that I needed to do things today." I start to redo the top wrappings of my hand again for the hundredth time today as I eat.

"Today?" I say rhetorically, with an attitude before opening my beer and walking past you, heading alone to the clubroom.

I shrug it off and continue to eat, alone, and struggle with my hand, before giving a frustrated cry and hitting it on the sofa hard.

"NOTHING!" I bark back. I was pissed that I was in this position and did not want to be. I storm upstairs to the bathroom, where I can continue my struggle where you can't hear.

I roll my eyes, drink my beer, and find the Mavericks-Heat game on tv. "Jesus," I say under my breath as I hear you go upstairs.

Finally giving up on bandages, I clean the wound again and put it in the sling without the bandages. I go and grab my purse and poke my head in the clubroom, not letting you see my bad hand. "Going to the store, Your Highness," I snap before heading out the door.

I go out shopping for groceries and return a couple hours later, my arm laden with bags and I start to put them away by myself. I was in a lot of pain, but I didn't feel like going for my meds and I don't even let you know that I'm back, until I drop the gallon of milk on my foot and I let out a cry of pain.

"Yeah," I call back softly, kneeling down and grabbing the jug of milk. "I'm fine. . ." I continue to work at putting away the groceries.

At the next time out, I come in for another beer and see you struggling. "What are you doing?" I ask. I notice a couple of light streaks of blood on the counter.

"I'm putting the groceries away," I tell you, putting up the last of the groceries. "I'm fine, Reece." I open the fridge and hand you another beer with my good hand.
