I playfully swat at you with my good hand, giggling. "I'd like that," I say with a smile, finishing my second bowl of mac and cheese. I ponder a third bowl for a moment before getting up and getting it.

 

[CarnivalBarker]

"Did that guy stab your thyroid?!" I ask, finishing my beer.

 

[celestialdragon]

I crack up laughing. "Noooo. . . I'm hungry!!" I say. "My thyroid is perfectly fine, it's my belly that isn't!!" I sit back down and dive into bowl number three.

 

[CarnivalBarker]

"Oh, you're hungry?" I tease. "I wasn't quite sure."

 

[celestialdragon]

I giggle and finish my third bowl, feeling sleepy again, and I give a massive yawn.

 

[CarnivalBarker]

"You going back to bed, sleepy food monster?" I kiss your forehead as you hug me, putting your head against my chest. "Your drugs will probably knock you out," I say.

 

[celestialdragon]

"I don't wanna go back to bed," I mumble, sleepy. "I wanna stay awake. . . Don't knock me out drugs, please. . ."

 

[CarnivalBarker]

"Well, I'm going to watch some basketball if you want to try to stay awake. Want some cocoa and apple pie?"

 

[celestialdragon]

"Yes, please," I say, hoping the sugar would keep me awake.

 

[CarnivalBarker]

I pat your butt twice. "Go get your pillow and one of your bears, and I'll take your dessert to the clubroom," I tell you.

 

[celestialdragon]

I grab a pillow and both of my bears and go to the club room. I crawl under the covers and snuggle down, but propped up enough to eat.

 

[CarnivalBarker]

"Got a lot of bear there," I say from across the couch as you gobble down your pie.

 

[celestialdragon]

I giggle and laugh. "Well, I didn't want to leave one of them, it wouldn't have been nice," I say. "there's still plenty of room for you." I demolish my pie and get to work on my cocoa, still getting sleepy.

 

[CarnivalBarker]

I watch the game and notice your little eyelids getting heavy, then heavier. I laugh to myself at how cute you are and how precious you are, and am sad that such an innocent has had to go through something like this.

 

[celestialdragon]

I finish my cocoa and curl up and nod off, trying to fight the sleepiness and failing as I fall into a deep sleep.

 

[CarnivalBarker]

I pick you up and carry you upstairs and lay you on the bed. You mumble something that I can't understand as I tuck your small bear under your arm and return downstairs to watch the rest of the game. You haven't moved when I return later to go to bed, and I slide behind you, draping my arm over you.

In my sleep, I snuggle into you more with a content sigh, squeezing the small bear tightly.

I wake up a few hours later feeling hot, and manage to get out of the blankets and curl up next to you on the covers.

"You feel ok, baby?" I ask as you wake me.

 

[celestialdragon]

"Yeah, I'm just really hot," I say, rolling over to face you with a smile.

 

[CarnivalBarker]

I lean in and kiss you. "Mmm, yeah you are," I smile, my hand sliding to your ass.

 

[celestialdragon]

I kiss you back, giggling. "I was referring to body temperature," I giggle. "But I like your answer too."

 

[CarnivalBarker]

"I gotta be honest," I say.

 

[celestialdragon]

"Mmm, that's true," I whisper. I nuzzle into you, gently kissing your collarbone.

 

[CarnivalBarker]

I laugh. "No, I mean I gotta tell you something."

 

[celestialdragon]

"Oh, okay," I say, giggling with you. "What is it?"
