Anyone have any experience ensuring that this thing is discharged?

I'm wanting to try replacing the lcd screen on my older digital camera, but I'm concerned about the possibility of the capacitor still having some charge on it. It's been sitting in my closet without batteries for about a year now, but I don't have a multimeter to check.

Anyone have some suggestions? Other than shorting it with a screwdriver.

It is probably discharged already, but...
Short across it with a 1 meg resistor. Or.. a piece of carbon (from a drycell) or pencil lead... then direct short across it from ground, just to be sure.
