CalTrans to Deceased Veterans: Drop Dead

In the same week in which protesters demonstrated in Los Angeles in support of recently incinerated cop killer Christopher Dorner, here is further proof that America is totally off the rails. Jeffrey H. Anderson writes on The Weekly Standard’s website about a private citizen in California who has struggled to erect a privately funded memorial to honor military veterans. You would think Steve LeBard wanted to open an anthrax laboratory. Politically correct bureaucrats at the California Department of Transportation have impeded his every step.

The latest outrage? CalTrans now demands that LeBard black out E Pluribus Unum from any military seals that would appear on the monument. Also to be redacted: The words “United States.”

This country is collapsing right before our eyes. Anderson’s article offers fresh proof of this sad fact. This absolutely staggering, pointless, foolish, and needless nonsense deserves loud outrage from patriots coast to coast.

It's always exciting to wake up, fix the coffee, and sit down to the lit to see what the morning's outrage is.

In this case... I googlized this odd little story and found out the issue is that you aren't allowed to use the military seals/emblems without permission of the military - or you can alter them so that they can't be confused with the real thing which would imply endorsement by the agency/military/etc.

Now on the National Review's web site, in the comments section, some commenter calling himself Steve LeBard says that he did, in fact, get permission from the military. But who can say for sure.

This damn place is going to hell in a handbasket!

You know, life sure was simpler before the interwebs when crazy people only had themselves to talk to.

yup

:cool:E Pluribus Unum

:cool:United States

usuage is an outrage and CalTran MUSTSTOP IT:cool:

Jaun can always comment on Savage to defend the indefensible:D

BTW, go the other OTHER outrage

BACKGROUND CHECKS

Nurse Bloomy screeching about Golf

It's not the words, dummy, it's the use of the official seals. Removing the words, makes the seals... unofficial.

I suspect you knew that and are just calling to arms your merry band of loons.

You are the pied piper of crazy people.

otoh, showing pics of 9/11 wont be tolerated, cause its HATE SPEECH!

BACKGROUND CHECKS

Nurse Bloomy screeching about Golf

I don't care about Bloomy or BHO's golfing. Both are millionaires, and neither would step up and pay my rent, so piss on em.

I vaguely remember the background check thread. It wasn't something that interested me though so I left it alone.

I skimmed the thread and don't understand it. It started about background checks as a condition of employment... then turned to the checks being racist because minorities have a higher percentage of convictions, then turned to some small town banning guns... then the latest annoying stoner posted something I couldn't see and didn't want to click on.

its simple, SAVAGE

the GUBMINT insists on background checks for gun buyers

and

says background checks are RACIST when done in employment situations

EVERYTHING IS RACIST!

Ahhhh... I've had my fill of guns and no longer care about the issue.

Lots of contradictions in the government. I suspect the government does background checks when you apply for one of their jobs. I don't want a job though, so I don't care.

If you are going to the government or a private employer with your hat in hand, asking for work, you eat what's served.

everything is bullshit

then all of a sudden you realize, you have been painted into a corner with no way out

Over the past 15,000 years, 15 billion humans have been worrying about bullshit. How many of their names were known by anyone 100 years after their death?

Go see the wonders of the world, meet interesting people, eat good food and drink good wine. Then die. 100 years from now, nobody will remember your name either so live your life and don't worry about the rest of the world.

this isn't the rest of the world

this is the US

and it IMACTS US ALL!

BB, why is it that the bloggers you like to post strongly favor the tactic of trying to relate unrelated things? You know, like in this story about the cop killer and the veterans' memorial. Or (another example, from your other morning rage thread) criminal background checks for buying a gun and criminal background checks for getting a job.

These guys are juggling apples and oranges, figuring their average reader won't notice the difference.
