Two prevailing attitudes on this board:

1. The Left:
Those who attended Trump's rally or invaded the Capitol knew , deep down that Biden had been democratically elected, yet they still wanted to impose their will on most of us. Therefore, they deserve 100% to have their lives destroyed, they deserve no pitty.

2. CornusCoussa&'s:
"Those who stormed the Capitol are antisocials who tried to overthrow democracy and American values. So we're just as disgusted by them as you guys are & they deserve what's coming to them.
BUT Trump never advocated violence, he never incited a coup."




But (as my friends told me)that's NOT the attitude of many former pro-Trumpers or Republicans:

"Gosh, I think that moderate House Democrats were in fact right: Trump IS self-serving and a moron and dangerous, we'd been wearing pink glasses & bought into his lies.
And he'd just destroyed the lives of many 'useful idiots' or republican patriots, and doesn't even care. We pitty those he'd used, we despise and are angered by Trump"

But (as my friends told me)that's NOT the attitude of many former pro-Trumpers or Republicans:

There are a lot of different views as to what happened and even more as to what should be done with/about it.

While it is not the attitude of FORMER (which means they don't support him anymore so your fabricated ascription to them isn't a surprise) Trump supporters, according to recent polls from the source The Hill:

"Sixty-six percent of Republican voters support President Trump running for president again in 2024, according to a new survey."

So yea, some have wakened and come to their senses, but two-thirds of his followers are still mired in the Trump cult. And cult it must be if they can deify him and consider voting for him again.

Is it something in the water? Have aliens lobotomized a section of our populous leaving no sign of what they did other than a rabid, ignorant and myopic support for the donald? I can not for the life of me understand why anyone could or would ignore what is and has been while manufacturing an alternate ethereal reality from smoke and lies.
